Responsibilities

  • Analyze loan portfolio performance, including delinquency trends, roll rates, payment behavior, recoveries, and charge-offs
  • Use advanced SQL to combine, clean, validate, and analyze data from multiple systems
  • Develop analytical and statistical models to identify patterns, predict outcomes, and support business decisions
  • Segment customers based on risk, payment behavior, and account characteristics to support targeted servicing strategies
  • Build and maintain reports, dashboards, visualizations, and performance-monitoring tools
  • Identify opportunities to automate servicing and collections workflows
  • Evaluate existing processes to uncover inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and improvement opportunities
  • Design, implement, and analyze A/B tests for new servicing strategies and customer-treatment approaches
  • Evaluate collector productivity, outreach strategies, and campaign performance
  • Develop recommendations to improve collections effectiveness, operational efficiency, and portfolio performance
  • Respond to ad hoc data and analysis requests from executive leadership
  • Partner with business leaders to gather requirements and lead analytical or process-improvement projects
  • Ensure the accuracy, consistency, and integrity of data across reporting environments
  • Prepare presentations that clearly communicate findings, recommendations, and results
  • Translate complex analytical findings into practical insights for non-technical stakeholders

Southern Auto Finance Company (SAFCO) is seeking a Business Strategy Analyst / Data Scientist to help strengthen our servicing strategies, improve operational performance, and turn complex data into practical business decisions.

New and recent graduates are strongly encouraged to apply. Professional experience is welcome but not required. We are especially interested in candidates who have developed advanced analytical skills through academic coursework, internships, research projects, or professional experience.

This is a 100% in-office position, five days per week, at our Pompano Beach, Florida headquarters.

Remote and hybrid arrangements are not available.

Candidates must live within a reasonable commuting distance or be willing to relocate.

Advanced SQL proficiency is required.

What You’ll Do

You will work closely with executive leadership and servicing management to improve performance throughout SAFCO’s servicing and collections organization.

Your responsibilities will include:
