What You’ll Do
  • Conduct thorough discovery sessions with clients to understand their specific pain points, challenges, and business objectives.
  • Develop and propose tailored solutions that align with client goals, leveraging JF Bicking & Co.'s premium advisory products and services.
  • Provide technical expertise by answering client questions, demonstrating product capabilities, and explaining solution frameworks.
  • Build and manage a robust pipeline of family and founder-owned businesses, SMEs, investment firms and their portfolio companies, as well as not-for-profit and local government organizations.
  • Collaborate with internal advisory teams to develop sales strategies, present proposals, and close deals.
  • Maintain accurate CRM records and adhere to structured reporting and commission tracking processes.
  • Stay current on industry trends, best practices, and competitor offerings to ensure solutions remain relevant and competitive.
  • Offer post-sale support to assist clients with implementation and ensure maximum value from the solutions provided.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, addressing concerns and ensuring ongoing satisfaction.
What Makes a Business Solutions Consultant Different?

Must address all traditional business consulting aspects while also integrating technical expertise and specific solution knowledge. Provides strategy and recommendations but may not own execution or solution delivery. Owns the client journey from discovery to solution proposal, closing, and post-sale support. May not require in-depth product or technical knowledge. Must possess a strong technical understanding of JF Bicking & Co.'s reports, tools, and advisory products. Typically focuses on internal client challenges and process improvements. Bridges strategy and execution using JF Bicking & Co.'s proprietary solutions to drive measurable client outcomes. Engagements are often limited to the advisory phase. Responsible for both advising and ensuring solution implementation and client success. Unlike traditional business consultants or general consultants who primarily focus on advisory or strategic guidance, a Business Solutions Consultant at JF Bicking & Co. operates at the intersection of consulting and high-performance sales. This role is designed for professionals who not only advise clients on their business challenges but also take ownership of delivering and positioning our proprietary solutions, reports, and advisory products directly to decision-makers.

Where a traditional consultant might stop at the recommendation phase, Business Solutions Consultants go further, owning the client journey from discovery through proposal to closed engagement and beyond. This role is ideal for highly skilled B2B sales professionals, freelance consultants, and advisors who want to expand their income streams by introducing high-margin, enterprise-grade solutions to their existing client base while benefiting from our firm’s infrastructure, brand, and product support.

About the Program

This is a newly launched program within JF Bicking & Co., designed to expand access to the same premium services and products we currently offer. As such, Business Consultants will have full access to our established suite of solutions, with product support and technical assistance readily available through our experienced Advisor team. Whether it's complex solution structuring or client-specific technical queries, our Advisors are there to ensure you have the backup and resources you need.

Additionally, JF Bicking & Co. has a relatively strict promote-from-within policy for management roles. We place strong emphasis on rewarding early program hires who demonstrate leadership, performance, and alignment with our firm's values. As we continue to grow, we will first look to these early hires when selecting candidates to step into roles such as the permanent Sales Director for the program, as well as various other leadership and senior positions.

Compensation & Structure

This role is structured as an independent contractor engagement, fully compliant with Pennsylvania labor and tax regulations. Terms are governed by a contractor agreement aligned with IRS and Pennsylvania independent contractor classification standards.

  • First 90 Days or first 5 sales: Commission-only, with per-report commissions ranging from $250 to $7,104 based on report type and scope.
  • Post-Probation: Potential transition to a Base Salary + Commission + Benefits structure, subject to performance.
  • On-Target Earnings (OTE): $120,000+ annually, with top performers exceeding $200K–$ 300 K+.

Report pricing ranges from $2,500 to $16,000+ per engagement, with bundled packages offering higher deal values and enhanced commission opportunities.
