Job summary

Atlas Search seeks a seasoned business analyst to join our team in Colorado Springs. You will lead requirements gathering and translate client needs into actionable specifications for development and testing teams, focusing on life insurance or annuity products.

You will analyze requests, assess system impacts, and propose solutions while collaborating with both technical and business stakeholders. Independent work and capacity to manage competing priorities are essential.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in financial services or insurance.
• 2+ years gathering, analyzing, and documenting business requirements for life insurance or annuity products.
• Strong understanding of life insurance, annuity products, and related processes.
• Experience with Agile or Waterfall software development lifecycles and translating business needs into functional specs.
• Certifications or licenses preferred; ability to work independently with competing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Lead requirements gathering and analysis throughout the software development lifecycle, translating client and business needs into detailed specifications for development and testing teams.
• Analyze customer requests, assess system impacts, and evaluate potential solutions while communicating benefits and tradeoffs of proposed enhancements.
• Gather and interpret information from customers, product guides, prospectuses, marketing materials, workflows, and mockups to develop effective business solutions.
• Partner with development, testing, and client-facing teams to clarify requirements, resolve issues, and support successful product releases.
• Independently manage day-to-day challenges, identify opportunities to improve product functionality, and ensure requirements are clearly documented, complete, and aligned with customer needs.

• 2+ years of experience gathering, analyzing, and documenting business requirements for life insurance or annuity products.

• Experience working within Agile or Waterfall software development lifecycles, with the ability to translate business needs into clear, actionable functional specifications.
