Job summary

City of Marietta in Marietta, GA seeks a professional to support business retention and recruitment efforts for existing commercial, office, and industrial sectors. You will perform research, respond to information requests, and assist in site selection while coordinating with multiple city departments.

Responsibilities include data collection, market analysis, and producing reports on economic trends, workforce, and demographics.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in urban planning, Economics, Public/Business Administration, Real Estate or related field and two years related experience or a master’s degree in urban planning, Public/Business Administration, Real Estate and one-year related experience.
• Ability to analyze and interpret statistical data and explain them to diverse audiences.
• Proficiency with MS Office Suite and ability to create, interpret, present statistical information.

Responsibilities

• Develops and implements a strategy for the City’s business retention efforts with engagement of businesses, developers, property owners and brokers.
• Interfaces with local businesses to gather information, identify challenges, develop solutions, and connect to resources.
• Records, organizes, tracks and reports data to update business retention activities.
• Supports site selection efforts and data collection for recruitment of new businesses.
• Produces research, statistics, and reports on economic and industry makeup, workforce and demographics.
• Represents the office at community meetings and with partners; coordinates with City departments for efficiency.
• Provides direction to temporary interns and coordinates redevelopment opportunities and small area planning.
• Creates presentations on division activity and Marietta economy; engages with BLW on utility customer recruitment.
• Performs special projects and other duties as assigned.
