Position Summary

Reporting to the Chief Innovation Officer, the Business Process Re‑Engineering Lead will lead the redesign and optimization of end‑to‑end workflows across Sales, Operations, Customer Experience, and Partner Integrations. You’ll combine Lean Six Sigma principles, process mapping tools, and emerging automation technologies to streamline core processes—ensuring speed, accuracy, and scalability as Ceres Life scales its product portfolio and distribution network.

Key Responsibilities

Process Strategy & Governance

  • Define Process Roadmap: Develop a multi‑year process re‑engineering roadmap aligned with corporate OKRs (e.g., reduce policy issuance cycle time by 50%, achieve 95% first‑touch resolution).
  • Governance Framework: Establish a process governance model—defining roles, RACI matrices, and decision rights to sustain continuous improvement.

Process Analysis & Mapping

  • Current‑State Assessment: Lead cross‑functional workshops to document “as‑is” workflows (e.g., agent onboarding, eApp submission, suitability checks, commission payments) using BPMN or equivalent notation.
  • Data‑Driven Diagnostics: Partner with Data Analytics and Data Engineering to analyze process performance metrics and identify bottlenecks, hand‑offs, and error rates.

Re‑Engineering & Redesign

  • Future‑State Design: Architect “to‑be” processes that eliminate waste, reduce cycle times, and optimize hand‑offs—incorporating AI‑driven decision support and self‑service tools.
  • Pilot & Scale: Oversee pilot implementations, validate improvements, and scale redesigned processes across the organization.

Automation & Technology Integration

  • Tool Selection: Evaluate and recommend automation platforms (RPA, workflow orchestration, intelligent document processing) and integrate them with core systems (policy administration, CRM, agent portal).
  • MLOps Collaboration: Work with the AI Engineer and Data teams to embed predictive models and natural language processing into process steps (e.g., auto‑classification of inbound documents, chatbot‑enabled FAQs).

Change Management & Training

  • Stakeholder Engagement: Communicate process changes through steering committees, town halls, and working groups to secure buy‑in.
  • Training Programs: Partner with HR and Operations to develop training materials, job aids, and e‑learning modules that ensure rapid adoption of new workflows.

Continuous Improvement & KPI Tracking

  • Measurement & Reporting: Define process KPIs (cycle time, error rate, throughput, customer satisfaction) and build dashboards for real‑time visibility.
  • Sustainability: Establish a structure for ongoing process audits, quarterly improvement cycles, and lessons‑learned repositories.

Cross‑Functional Collaboration

  • Act as a trusted advisor to the CIO, COO, Product, Technology, and Risk committees—ensuring all process initiatives align with strategic priorities and compliance requirements.
  • Facilitate hand‑offs and collaboration between Operations, Customer Experience, Sales, IT, and external IMO partners to deliver end‑to‑end excellence.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Proven Expertise: 8+ years in business process re‑engineering or continuous improvement roles, with 3+ years in a leadership capacity.
  • Methodologies & Tools: Certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt (or equivalent) with hands‑on experience in BPMN, value‑stream mapping, and RPA/automation platforms.
  • Technical Acumen: Familiarity with modern workflow orchestration (e.g., Camunda, Appian), RPA tools (e.g., UiPath, Automation Anywhere), and AI integration.
  • Data‑Driven Mindset: Strong ability to partner with data and analytics teams—using metrics and root‑cause analysis to drive decisions.
  • Insurance/Financial Services Background: Experience in life insurance, annuities, or financial services is highly desirable—particularly in non‑underwritten or suitability‑based products.
  • Change Leadership: Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills; track record of driving large‑scale organizational change.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Operations Management, or related field; MBA or advanced process certifications a plus.
