About the Team

The Business Operations team sits under the CFO organization and is responsible for core company KPI reporting, incubating new analytics capabilities, leading and/or facilitating cross-functional projects to devise and operationalize high impact programs. We are looking for a strong data analyst to join Cloudflare to help develop analytics solutions and scale internal data processes. Success in this role comes from combining a strong technical foundation with sharp business acumen and a builder's mindset - someone who's energized by turning scrappy, manual workflows into streamlined, durable solutions to deliver strategic and compelling insights.

What you'll do

  • Identify root causes of business or data challenges and conduct in-depth analyses to translate data into meaningful insights

  • Present findings clearly and concisely, tailoring takeaways and recommendations to the appropriate audience

  • Design, build, and support data or insight solutions that help incubate new data capabilities or programs. Example projects include: product adoption scoring, product performance reporting, variable billing forecasting, product costing and margin analysis, and automation of GTM metrics reporting

  • Determine the right technical approach for each project phase (e.g. exploratory analysis, prototyping, MVP/beta development)

  • Partner closely with the Business Intelligence team to improve data collection and quality, streamline reporting processes, and help scale solutions from early-stage incubation to long-term, high-performing programs

  • Work cross-functionally to keep projects on track and stakeholders informed

  • Provide ad-hoc analytical support to Finance & Executive Leadership

  • This role might involve travel to the US on a bi-annual basis

Examples of desirable skills, knowledge and experience

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience

  • 4+ years of experience as a data analyst, including 1+ years in a large-scale environment (e.g., petabyte-scale data, globally distributed teams)

  • 2+ years of experience at a fast-growing, technology-driven company preferred

  • Strong hands-on experience with Python, SQL, and tools such as Google BigQuery, Looker Studio, Tableau, or similar Big Data/Cloud-based analytics platforms

  • Proven ability to multitask and thrive in a high-growth environment - able to zoom in on the details without losing sight of the bigger picture

  • Strong business acumen with a demonstrated ability to align data initiatives with business needs and deliver high-quality outcomes

  • Track record of conducting impactful, result-oriented analysis that informs business strategy and drives change

  • Advanced proficiency in English (written and verbal)

What Makes Cloudflare Special?

We're not just a highly ambitious, large-scale technology company. We're a highly ambitious, large-scale technology company with a soul. Fundamental to our mission to help build a better Internet is protecting the free and open Internet.

Project Galileo: Since 2014, we've equipped more than 2,400 journalism and civil society organizations in 111 countries with powerful tools to defend themselves against attacks that would otherwise censor their work, technology already used by Cloudflare's enterprise customers--at no cost.

Athenian Project: In 2017, we created the Athenian Project to ensure that state and local governments have the highest level of protection and reliability for free, so that their constituents have access to election information and voter registration. Since the project, we've provided services to more than 425 local government election websites in 33 states.

1.1.1.1: We released 1.1.1.1 to help fix the foundation of the Internet by building a faster, more secure and privacy-centric public DNS resolver. This is available publicly for everyone to use - it is the first consumer-focused service Cloudflare has ever released. Here's the deal - we don't store client IP addresses never, ever. We will continue to abide by our privacy commitment and ensure that no user data is sold to advertisers or used to target consumers.
