Position Summary

Under the general direction of the Dean, the proactive and detail-oriented Business Operations Manager is a professional responsible for managing and enhancing all business operations at the School of Nursing (SON). This role is essential in ensuring the smooth delivery of academic and clinical programs, improving efficiency, and supporting the strategic growth of nursing education initiatives.

  • Team Leadership: Supervises and evaluates administrative staff and collaborates with faculty and academic leadership to support program goals. Monitors daily operations and addresses potential issues when they arise.
  • Process Improvement: Evaluates and refines administrative workflows to improve efficiency, student satisfaction, and faculty support. Develops plans for scaling business operations.
  • Budget Oversight: Assists in managing the SON’s operational budget, including procurement of lab supplies, simulation equipment, and instructional materials. Performs cost-benefit analyses. Recommends solutions to improve profitability.
  • Technology Integration: Supports the implementation and maintenance of learning management systems (e.g., SonisWeb, Google Classroom), simulation software, and student information systems.
  • Strategic Projects: Leads or supports initiatives such as new program launches, space utilization, and facility enhancements. Creates strategies and policies for SON growth.
  • Academic Operations: Coordinates scheduling, classroom and lab utilization, and student services to support nursing program delivery.
  • Clinical Coordination Support: Collaborates with clinical placement coordinators to acquire and maintain affiliation agreements and compliant student placements in healthcare facilities.
  • Compliance & Accreditation: Ensures adherence to SON and SH policies. Assists with preparation of reports to governmental and regulatory agencies.
  • Demonstrates respect and regard for the dignity of all patients, families, visitors, and fellow employees to ensure a professional, responsible, and courteous environment.
  • Commits to recognize and respect cultural diversity for all customers (internal and external).
  • Communicates effectively with internal and external customers with respect for differences in cultures, values, beliefs and ages, utilizing interpreters when needed.

Education/Experience/Licensure/Technical/Other

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Healthcare Administration, Nursing, or a related field (Master’s preferred)
  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in operations or academic administration, preferably in a nursing or healthcare education setting.
  • Certification/Licensure: Certification in project management or process improvement (e.g., PMP, Lean Six Sigma) preferred
  • Software/Hardware: Proficiency in Microsoft Office, LMS platforms, and project management tools.
