Office Manager / Assistant Business Manager – Mandy’s Spring Nursery

Mandy’s Spring Nursery is a third-generation family business with operations in horticulture, landscaping, retail garden centers, floristry, and event services. We are expanding rapidly, including the development of a new boutique retail location in Wilton, NY called Canopy. To support our growth, we are seeking a capable, experienced, and team-oriented professional to join our leadership team as an Office Manager / Assistant Business Manager.

About the Role:

This full-time, on-site position is vital to the smooth operation of our financial and administrative systems. You’ll primarily handle accounts receivable, vendor payments, and daily financial reporting, while also collaborating closely with our CEO and owner on purchasing, project planning, and strategic financial management.

You’ll work alongside another experienced office team member who handles accounts payable, payroll, and receipt management. Together, you’ll help keep our construction, landscaping, and retail divisions running efficiently and responsibly.

Responsibilities include:

  • Managing accounts receivable and overseeing larger material and supply expenditures.
  • Assisting with budgeting and purchasing logistics for ongoing projects and seasonal needs.
  • Preparing daily financial reports and updates for ownership.
  • Supporting HR processes including onboarding, timekeeping, and personnel records.
  • Maintaining vendor relationships and ensuring accurate, timely payments.
  • Coordinating with the field team to ensure procurement cards are funded and tracked.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in a landscape, construction, or contracting-related business.
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks Online and digital scheduling/payroll platforms (we use QuickBooks Workforce).
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities calmly and professionally.
  • BS in Business, Accounting, or relevant field preferred — but proven experience and character will carry equal weight.

This role requires:

  • 5-day work week, in-office presence in South Granville, NY.
  • A solutions-oriented mindset and collaborative spirit.
