Avera Health's Flandreau Hospital is seeking a registration specialist to support patients, staff and providers by handling patient registration, scheduling outreach clinics and handling insurance questions.
You will perform centralized scheduling, verify demographics and insurance, assist with accounts payable, and provide back-up billing support while maintaining confidentiality and CARE values.

Pay Range: The pay range for this position is listed below. Actual pay rate dependent upon experience. $18.00 - $23.25
Clinic Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

A Brief Overview Provides support to patients, staff and providers through the registration of patients, fulfilling receptionist duties, completing centralized scheduling for outreach services and outpatient clinics and patient insurance functions.
Performs centralized scheduling of outreach clinics, outreach services and patient procedures and tests. This includes utilizing the appropriate procedure set to obtain accurate information from the patient and input into the scheduling system; explain appointment expectations to the patient and provide appropriate instructions when applicable. Ensures proper credentialing and licensure for providers, vendors, and insurance carriers. Registers patients in a timely and accurate manner by entering demographic, insurance, physician and other defined information while following established registration standards. Performs necessary duties relating to Accounts Payable including receive payments and assist with daily cash balances and deposits. Assists other departments with reports and processing. Performs generalized secretarial duties as needed including, but not limited to; front desk reception, phone reception; work processing; collate/fax/mail reports and documents; assist in incoming and outgoing correspondence. Serves as back-up for Billing/Receipts and other clinic and hospital business office functions as needed including scanning and filing documents. Provides support to patients regarding insurance, billing questions, assistance programs, point of sale collections, and estimates.
