Job summary

LSU is seeking a Business Manager reporting to the Department Head and the Associate Dean for Fiscal Affairs. The role will manage all fiscal and administrative matters of the department independently, ensuring expenditures remain within budgets and funding sources are available.

The incumbent will educate faculty on funds management and implement and adhere to all relevant rules, regulations, and procedures related to the department's administrative and financial operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
• Four years of relevant professional level experience.
• Degree in other area with +3 years relevant experience; Master's in business can substitute for 2 years.

Job Summary/Basic Functions

The Business Manager is responsible for maintaining the fiscal integrity of the departments; this includes but is not limited to ensuring that all expenditures are within budgets and available sources of funding.

Incumbent will educate the faculty on funds management and will be responsible for implementing and adhering to all relevant rules, regulations and procedures as they relate to the administrative and financial operation of the department.

Minimum Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's
• Required Field of Study: Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or related discipline
• Number of years required to perform the job: Four
• Type of experience required to perform the job: Relevant professional level experience
• Substitution: Degree in other area will be considered with additional 3 years of relevant experience. Master's degree in a business oriented discipline can substitute for 2 years experience.
