WDSU-TV in New Orleans, LA, a Hearst Television NBC Affiliate, is seeking a Business Manager. This leadership role blends finance/accounting with human resources management to impact multiple functions in a fast-paced environment.

The successful candidate will oversee HR activities, payroll, accounts payable, budgeting, and reporting, reporting to the President & General Manager. In-person attendance is required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of accounting/finance experience
• HR experience required; PHR/SPHR/SHRM-CP/SCP certification a plus
• Payroll experience is strongly preferred
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
• Experience with Oracle HCM & EPBCS, Wide Orbit, and ADP

Responsabilités

• Support employees and manage core HR activities
• Partner with regional finance team on monthly closings, forecasts, and annual budget processes
• Provide HR support and ensure timely onboarding/offboarding
• Administer leave and workers' compensation programs
• Manage employee data through Oracle HCM and oversee performance management
• Support labor relations under union collective bargaining agreements
• Process invoices and manage Accounts Payable & Expenses
• Assist with forecasting and budgeting of revenues and operating expenses
• Communicate financial results and provide analysis to department heads
• Provide tools and communications for expense management across departments

WDSU, the Hearst-owned NBC Affiliate in New Orleans, LA is looking for a Business Manager. This is a key leadership role, ideal for someone who thrives on both people and numbers. The position blends finance/accounting responsibilities with human resources management, offering a unique opportunity to make an impact across multiple functions in a fast paced environment.

What You’ll Do

You will support our employees and manage core HR activities, while also partnering with our regional finance team on monthly closings, forecasts and annual budget processes. The successful candidate will be highly organized, analytical and an excellent communicator who enjoys working collaboratively across departments. In-person attendance is required. You will report to the President and General Manager.

Human Resources

• Manage employee relations and provide HR support across the organization
• Oversee onboarding and offboarding processes
• Administer leave and workers' compensation programs
• Support employee benefits administration
• Manage employee data through Oracle HCM
• Oversee performance management processes
• Support labor relations under union collective bargaining agreements

General Business Functions

• Accounts Payable & Expenses
• Process and approve invoices
• Review and approve purchasing card, travel, and entertainment expenses
• Maintain local operating contracts
• Oversee real estate and sales/use tax reporting
• Asset Management
• Manage fleet operations
• Track, tag, and dispose of fixed assets
• Oversee periodic physical inventory
• Manage Receptionist
• Interpret and communicate financial results
• Provide an analytical analysis with suggestions for a stronger financial performance.
• Provide tools and communication that assist Department Heads with expense management.
• Serve as liaison between the station and regional accounting team on reporting
• Assist with forecasting and budgeting of revenues and operating expenses

Payroll

• Support bi-weekly payroll review, processing, and reconciliation through ADP
• Prepare monthly payroll reports from ADP

Qualifications

• Strong ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities
• Highly detail-oriented and organized
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and provide recommendations
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Experience

• 5+ years of accounting/finance experience
• Previous HR experience required; PHR/SPHR/SHRM-CP/SCP certification a plus
• Payroll experience is strongly preferred
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
• Experience with accounting and HR software applications such as Oracle (HCM & EPBCS), Wide Orbit, and ADP
• Related experience, education, training, or military experience will be considered as well as a combination of education and experience
