Job summary

Womble Bond Dickinson (US) LLP in Houston, TX seeks an experienced Business Litigation Paralegal to support complex state and federal court matters. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in litigation procedures, strong communications, and proficiency in Relativity.

You will draft and file pleadings, manage discovery, assist at depositions and trials, organize case files, and maintain calendars.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and paralegal certificate preferred with 3–5 years’ complex litigation paralegal experience in a mid- to large-sized law firm.
• Proficiency with File & Serve, CM/ECF, and legal research platforms (LexisNexis, Westlaw).
• Excellent writing and interpersonal communications skills.
• Strong project management skills with attention to detail and deadlines.
• Strong organizational skills with ability to prioritize project requirements.

Responsibilities

• Draft and prepare legal documents, including complaints, motions, discovery, Tables of Contents and Tables of Authorities, and other pleadings, ensuring accuracy and compliance with court requirements.
• File and serve motions, briefs, exhibits, appendices, and other documents in state and federal courts.
• Conduct thorough research to support litigation efforts.
• Handle all aspects of electronic discovery, including Relativity document reviews and productions.
• Support attorneys during depositions, mediations, arbitrations, and trial, including logistics and witness preparation.
• Coordinate creation of case management repository and ensure prompt downloading/distribution of Court filings.
• Organize discovery, research, pleadings, and other relevant documents for attorney review and case preparation.
• Prepare notebooks for hearings, depositions, and trial preparation.
• Communicate with clients and counsel to address inquiries and provide case updates.
• Proofread and cite check legal documents for grammar, formatting, and legal accuracy.
• Calendar and track case deadlines.
