Qualifications

J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school.
Active membership in good standing with the North Carolina Bar.
2–4 years of business or commercial litigation experience.
Experience drafting motions, briefs, discovery requests, and memoranda.
Experience handling discovery and depositions.
Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
Attention to detail and organizational abilities.
Ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines independently.
Professional demeanor and interpersonal communication skills.
Strong academic credentials.

Responsibilities

Represent clients in complex business and commercial litigation matters in state and federal courts.
Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery requests, discovery responses, and other litigation documents.
Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda regarding substantive and procedural legal issues.
Manage all phases of written discovery, including document review and production.
Participate in and assist with depositions, hearings, mediations, and court appearances.
Assist with case strategy, risk assessment, and litigation planning.
Work directly with partners and clients on ongoing litigation matters.
Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, experts, and third-party witnesses.
Assist with trial preparation, witness preparation, exhibit organization, and pretrial filings.
Manage multiple cases and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
