Job summary

Winstead PC in Houston is seeking a 3-5 year associate for our Business Litigation group. The role offers growth opportunities within a collaborative and interactive practice in our Houston office.

The ideal candidate will have experience drafting and arguing motions, taking depositions, researching, document review, drafting pleadings and discovery. Real estate litigation and eminent domain experience are preferred. Strong academics and writing skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Draft and argue motions and manage depositions as part of the litigation team.
• Conduct legal research, document review, and drafting of pleadings.
• Coordinate discovery and manage related workflows.
• Support real estate litigation and eminent domain matters as needed.
• Contribute to maintaining a collaborative, mentoring-oriented practice.

The ideal candidate will have experience in the following areas:

Business Litigation

Business Litigation Experience

Experience in drafting and arguing motion and experience in taking depositions. Additionally, experience in research, document review, drafting pleadings and experience in discovery is required.

Real Estate Litigation Experience

Experience in real estate litigation is preferred but not required.

Eminent Domain Experience

Prior experience or exposure to eminent domain matters.

Strong academics

Candidates should have strong academic credentials.

Writing skills

Candidates should be proficient at complex legal drafting and client communication.
