McGraw-Hill Higher Education has an exciting opportunity for a Business Lead, Commercial Operations to join our team.

Your impact on the team:

The Business Lead, Commercial Operations is responsible for leading multiple commercial and operational initiatives in partnership with the VP, Analytics and Strategic Initiatives. You will serve as a key business voice for the Higher Education operations, focusing on requirement gathering, technology development, commercial model creation, and go-to-market planning. This involves collaboration with Sales, Product, Marketing, Strategy, Commercial Operations, and Finance. You will also act as a point of consolidation for requirements and work closely with the technology and integrations team during technology buildouts.

This role is remote from a home office and reports to the Vice President of Analytics & Strategic Initiatives. Candidates must reside within the United States and be willing to travel for team meetings.

What you will be doing:
  • Lead daily operations for the Higher Ed business related to the development of integration services, guiding technology buildout decisions.
  • Engage with stakeholders across the business to support operational initiatives, especially those impacting technology and product distribution strategies.
  • Collaborate with program management to provide project updates and escalate issues as needed.
  • Work with Sales, Pricing, Product, and Commercial Operations leaders to develop new selling and commercial models in the higher education ecosystem.
  • Assist in early-stage sales and market research efforts with Sales and GTM leaders.
We're looking for someone with:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience (strongly preferred).
  • At least 3 years of experience as a liaison between technical teams and senior business leaders; 5+ years and managerial experience preferred.
  • Experience in the higher education marketplace or related educational services.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Financial acumen for impact analysis.
  • Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Experience developing new business offerings and supporting back-office technologies.
  • Curiosity, initiative, and integrity in professional conduct.
  • Knowledge of course material distribution in Higher Education is a plus.
