McGraw-Hill Higher Education has an exciting opportunity for a Business Lead, Commercial Operations to join our team.

Your impact on the team:

The Business Lead, Commercial Operations is responsible for taking a leading role in driving multiple commercial and operational initiatives in partnership with the VP, Analytics and Strategic Initiatives. You will serve as an integrated business voice for the Higher Education business operation, involved in requirement gathering, technology builds, commercial model development, and go-to-market planning. These requirements will be developed in partnership with all critical functional verticals, including Sales, Product, Marketing, Strategy, Commercial Operations, and Finance. You will act as a consolidation point for requirements and be part of the core team with the technology and integrations team during technology buildouts.

This role works remotely from a home office and reports to the Vice President of Analytics & Strategic Initiatives. Candidates must reside permanently within the United States and be open to travel for team meetings.

What you will be doing:
  1. Serve as the day-to-day lead for the Higher Ed business related to the buildout of integration services capabilities, partnering with core teams to guide technology buildout decisions.
  2. Drive stakeholder engagement across multiple operational initiatives, including those impacting technology underpinning future product distribution strategies.
  3. Provide regular updates to project owners and stakeholders on project status and escalate potential roadblocks to facilitate resolution, in partnership with program management support resources.
  4. Collaborate with Sales, Pricing, Product, and Commercial Operations leaders to develop new selling and commercial models within the higher education ecosystem.
  5. Partner with Sales and GTM leaders for early-stage sales and market research efforts as needed.
We're looking for someone with:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience (strongly preferred)
  • 3+ years of experience as a primary liaison between technical teams and senior business leaders; managerial experience of 5+ years is preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in the higher education marketplace or related fields.
  • Problem structuring and solving skills.
  • Strong financial acumen for impact analysis.
  • Proficiency in Excel & PowerPoint.
  • Experience in developing new business and commercial offerings, along with supporting back-office technologies.
  • Curiosity, initiative, and integrity in professional conduct.
  • Knowledge of course material distribution in the Higher Education market is a plus.

The salary range for this position is $90,000 - $130,000 annually, with actual pay depending on experience, skills, and location. We offer comprehensive medical and other benefits. Learn more about our benefits.
