Job summary

Credit Acceptance Corporation is seeking a Business Intelligence Manager II to lead a BI team focused on delivering data-driven insights and reporting solutions. You will drive data literacy upstream, enable self-service through semantic layers, and collaborate with PMO, Product, Stakeholders, and Engineering to align data initiatives with business goals.

You and your team will own enterprise dashboards and reports to support business operations and strategy, fostering data-driven decision

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Data Analytics, or related field; or equivalent experience.
  • 5 - 8 years managing BI or analytics teams.
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Proven experience using BI solutions to improve business outcomes.
  • Experience managing requirements gathering, prototyping, user acceptance testing, and deployment of BI projects.
  • Basic understanding of data warehousing and web technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and maintenance of BI dashboards, reports, and data models to support operations and strategy.
  • Collaborate with PMO, Product, Stakeholders, and Engineering to align data initiatives with business goals.
  • Drive the adoption of AI and advanced analytics to enhance BI capabilities and insights at scale.
  • Maintain a prioritized backlog and ensure data pipelines and reporting artifacts are clean.
  • Partner with infrastructure and data engineering teams to ensure BI tools run efficiently.
  • Demonstrate deep understanding of data sources and reporting requirements; propose effective solutions.
  • Analyze risks and impacts of BI changes on operations and recommend improvements.
  • Apply and advocate for team standards in data documentation, visualization, and testing.
  • Communicate across technical and non-technical audiences and address data impacts upstream and downstream.
  • Continuously improve BI processes and mentor team members to enhance data literacy.

Your team will be responsible for building data literacy and advocating for data needs upstream and early in the process. However, this position is permitted to work at a Southfield, Michigan office location if requested by the team member.* Lead the development and maintenance of BI dashboards, reports, and data models to support business operations and strategy.* Collaborate with PMO, Product, Stakeholders, and Engineering to align data initiatives in the department with business goals.* Drive the adoption of AI and advanced analytics to enhance business intelligence capabilities, improve efficiency, and generate actionable insights at scale.* Maintain a prioritized backlog of tasks and ensure clarity and cleanliness of data pipelines and reporting artifacts.* Partner with infrastructure and data engineering teams to ensure optimal performance of BI tools and platforms.* Demonstrate deep understanding of data sources, business processes, and reporting requirements; propose effective solutions.* Analyze risks and impacts of BI changes on business operations and recommend improvements.* Apply and advocate for team standards in data documentation, visualization, and testing.* Communicate effectively across technical and non-technical audiences, recognizing upstream and downstream data impacts.* Continuously improve BI processes and mentor team members to enhance data literacy and analytical capabilities.* Monitor BI system health and proactively address issues to ensure high availability and reliability.* Promote a culture of data-driven decision-making and continuous learning within the team.**Competencies:** The following items detail how you will be successful in this role.* **Customer Empathy:** Customer Empathy is the ability to understand the perspectives, pain points, and experiences of customers. As an owner, you understand the business and your domain(s) deeply and solve for the right outcome for the domain(s) and the business.**Requirements*** Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Data Analytics, or related field; or equivalent experience.* 5 - 8 years managing BI or analytics teams.* Strong communication skills, both oral and written.* Proven experience using BI solutions to improve business outcomes.* Experience managing requirements gathering, prototyping, user acceptance testing, and deployment of BI projects.* Basic understanding of data warehousing and web technologies.**Preferred:*** Experience with BI lifecycle and governance frameworks.* Proficient in Power BI with expertise in developing dashboards, reports, and data visualizations that drive business decisions.* Proficient in Databricks for data engineering, analytics, and scalable data processing.* Project management experience: PMP certification is a plus.* Experience writing SQL queries and analyzing data patterns.* Familiarity with cloud-based BI platforms and data services.* Ability to manage multiple priorities and communicate complex data concepts clearly.* Demonstrated ability to lead with insight and make strategic recommendations.* Self-driven, customer-focused, and able to work independently with moderate supervision.* Strong analytical skills and ability to work with abstract concepts.**Target Compensation:** A competitive base salary range from $129,018 – $189,226. This position is eligible for an annual variable bonus of cash and equity, between 15-30%. Bonus amounts are based on individual performance. Final compensation within the range is influenced by many factors including role-specific skills, depth and experience level, industry background, relevant education and certifications.
