Job summary

Credit Acceptance is seeking an Analyst, Analytics - Strategy to analyze loan servicing strategies, policies, processes, and performance tests. You will translate high level business goals into data projects and deliver actionable insights that drive smarter decisions.

This remote-friendly role offers occasional travel to Southfield, MI. You will collaborate across teams, monitor strategy performance, develop reports, and optimize high-volume decisions using SAS, SQL, Python, or R.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or higher preferred.
  • 2+ years’ experience in analytics using SAS, SQL, Python or R.
  • 2+ years’ analytics experience or combined education/experience.
  • Graduate degree preferred in related fields.
  • Experience monitoring loan servicing or credit risk is valued.
  • Experience writing, testing, and optimizing code in Python.

  • Actively monitor the performance of strategies in production.
  • Analyze data to drive better business decisions.
  • Develop complex programming to extract and manipulate data.
  • Develop and maintain complex strategies to optimize high-volume decisions.
  • Create reports to measure champion/challenger test performance and policy impact.

Analyst, Analytics - Strategy

The purpose of the Analyst, Analytics - Strategy position is to perform analysis on loan servicing strategies, business policies, processes, and performance champion/challenger tests.

Outcomes and Activities

This position will work from home; occasional planned travel to our Southfield, Michigan office may be required. However, this position is permitted to work at our Southfield, Michigan office if requested by the team member.

  • Actively monitor the performance of strategies in production
  • Analyze data to drive better business decisions
  • Develop complex programming to extract and manipulate data
  • Develop, monitor, and maintain complex strategies with the goal of optimizing high volume decisions to add intrinsic value to Credit Acceptance
  • Develop and produce reports to measure the performance of champion/challenger tests, policies, and processes
  • Perform analysis to solve business problems and drive better decisions
  • Translate high level business goals into the tasks and technical specifications needed to accomplish the goal

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree (Computer Science, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Business Analytics, etc. - preferred)
  • 2+ years’ experience in an academic or professional setting using one or more of the following analytical tools SAS, SQL, Python or R
  • 2+ years’ experience in an analytics setting, or a combination of higher education and experience
  • Preferred: Graduate degree (Computer Science, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Business Analytics)
  • Experience monitoring credit scorecards or collection scores
  • Experience testing system implementations
  • Knowledge of loan servicing functions
  • Knowledge of credit risk management
  • Experience with data analysis
  • Experience running and creating reports in an analytical tool or in a business intelligence setting
  • Ability to write, debug and optimize Python code
Targeted Compensation

Targeted Compensation: $90,000 - $120,000 base salary + annual bonus plan

This position is not currently open to individuals who require sponsorship now or in the future to work legally for Credit Acceptance, such as H-1b / H-4 or F-1 OPT visa holders.
