You will work directly with corporate clients and foreign nationals, moving cases from intake through filing and approval. Responsibilities include preparing and filing H-1B, PERM, I-140, and I-485 petitions; drafting support letters; tracking deadlines; and coordinating with USCIS, DOL, and other agencies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or paralegal certificate preferred.
  • 2+ years of business immigration experience, with hands-on H-1B and PERM preparation.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and comfort interacting directly with clients.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage a high-volume caseload with competing deadlines.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and immigration case management software (e.g., INSZoom, LawLogix, Docketwise) a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, assemble, and file employment-based petitions, including H-1B, H-4, L-1, PERM, I-140, and I-485, along with related applications such as extensions, amendments, transfers, I-765, and I-131.
  • Draft support letters, forms, and exhibit indexes; assemble filing packages and coordinate submission to USCIS, DOL, and other agencies.
  • Track filing deadlines, cap season timelines, validity end dates, and priority dates to ensure timely submission.
  • Manage the case initiation process, including opening new matters, fact-gathering with clients, and identifying visa strategy for attorney review.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for employer contacts and foreign national employees, providing clear status updates and setting expectations on process and timing.
  • Follow up to obtain signatures, supporting documentation, and missing information needed to complete filings.
  • Maintain accurate client and beneficiary contact information and case data in the firm's case management system.
  • Support PERM recruitment steps, including preparing and tracking required notices and postings, and maintaining recruitment documentation.
  • Prepare and maintain Public Access Files and LCA documentation; confirm clients complete and retain required postings and records.
  • Monitor compliance obligations and flag issues for attorney attention.
  • Conduct routine case monitoring, including tracking receipt notices, RFEs, approvals, and pending items, and escalating time-sensitive matters.
  • Prepare, update, and distribute recurring status reports; build custom reports to meet individual client requirements.
  • Create, edit, print, and distribute case materials and client-facing documents.
  • Develop working knowledge of firm procedures and each client's immigration policies, preferences, and escalation protocols.
  • Handle general administrative duties as needed, including file organization, e-filing, invoicing support, and mail/courier coordination.

We're hiring a Business Immigration Paralegal to support a busy employment-based immigration practice. You'll work directly with corporate clients and foreign national employees to move cases from intake through filing and approval.

Case Preparation & Filing
