Job summary

Johnson & Johnson is seeking a Business Excellence Engineering Co-Op in San Lorenzo, Puerto Rico. The role runs January–December 2027, 40 hours per week, with two vacancies.

Under a mentor, you’ll work on departments and projects to improve processes, reduce cycle time, and cut costs while ensuring quality and compliance with safety policies. Requires full-time student status and bilingual English/Spanish writing ability.

Qualifications

• Completion of Undergraduate Freshman year at an accredited University is required.
• Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Engineering (Industrial, Mechanical, or related fields).
• GPA 2.8 or higher across college coursework.
• Enrolled and in good academic standing with at least two years completed.
• Previous Internship/Coop or Academic Research experience preferred.
• Extracurricular involvement in a student organization is a plus.
• Fluency in Spanish and English; strong writing in both languages.
• Proficiency with MS Office; Visio and Minitab desirable.
• Ability to assess issues, set priorities, and act with urgency.
• AutoCAD knowledge is required.
• Must be permanently authorized to work in the U.S.; no visa sponsorship needed.

Responsibilities

• Execute projects to increase process efficiencies and improve quality using project management methods (FPX).
• Drive improvements in assigned areas with Lean/Six Sigma methodologies.
• Undertake simple project/product development tasks including specifications and documentation.
• Assist in concepts and designs for new products or processes and test methods.
• Prepare standard reports to communicate results.
• Comply with ISO14001 and OSHAS 18001 safety policies.
