Business Development Specialist (Remote - B2B Sales)

Job Summary

The Business Development Specialist will represent Texas State University and recruit qualified students into online business degree programs, focusing on the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex and Austin. The ideal candidate is an experienced sales or B2B professional, passionate about higher education and understanding the value of advanced degree programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Market online advanced business degree programs offered by Texas State University.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities, cultivate relationships with prospective corporate partners, and drive revenue growth.
  • Partner with corporations and community colleges in Dallas, Fort Worth, and Austin to promote Texas State's undergraduate and MBA programs.
  • Develop and manage a territory to increase brand awareness and interest across Texas.
  • Achieve monthly lead, application, and enrollment goals by organizing 10-15 recruiting events each month.
  • Implement marketing campaigns and establish employer partnerships to expand the territory.
  • Utilize social media to enhance recruiting efforts and promote program offerings.
  • Stay informed about regional and national workforce trends and communicate insights to stakeholders.
Candidate Attributes
  • Competitive, energetic, collaborative, positive, self-motivated, resourceful, detail-oriented.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with students, business leaders, and administrators.
  • Results-oriented with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree and at least 4 years of outside sales or B2B sales experience.
  • Preferred: 2 years in student recruitment or higher education.
  • Residency in Texas, preferably in Dallas or Fort Worth.
  • Experience managing a large geographic sales territory.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with a track record of professional growth.
  • Ability to work independently and meet KPIs.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, CRM/Salesforce, and other systems.
  • Willingness to travel extensively (minimum 75%) across Texas.
