Overview
Seeking a technical/commercial professional to identify and develop new business opportunities, evaluate growth initiatives, build customer relationships, and support capital and infrastructure projects. This role works closely with engineering, operations, and commercial teams and is well suited for someone with a chemical/process industry background who has moved into business development, commercial strategy, market development, or technical sales.
Responsibilities
- Identify and develop new business and market opportunities
- Build relationships with chemical producers, distributors, logistics partners, and industry stakeholders
- Develop business cases, financial models, commercial proposals, and strategic plans
- Evaluate markets, projects, partnerships, and growth opportunities
- Support capital and infrastructure development projects
- Partner with engineering and operations to evaluate project feasibility and commercial potential
- Manage project schedules, budgets, risks, and communications
- Serve as a key commercial contact for customers
- Support pricing, contracts, renewals, and commercial negotiations
- Develop long-term customer relationships and strategic partnerships
Qualifications
- BA/BS Degree in Chemical Engineering/Chemistry ideal (other engineering or business degrees considered)
- 3-5+ years of relevant business development, commercial, technical sales, applications engineering, strategy, or project experience
- Chemical, petrochemical, process industry, terminals, logistics, or related industrial experience preferred
- Experience with business cases, financial modeling, commercial proposals, market analysis, and/or project evaluation
- Strong technical aptitude and ability to work cross-functionally with engineering and operations
- Strong customer-facing, relationship development, and communication skills
- Chemical Engineering or similar technical background highly desirable
