Job description

Business Development Representative, University Partnerships
{$90K-$100K OTE}
Hybrid - Atlanta, GA
About NPHub

NPHub is reimagining the healthcare workforce pipeline. We connect nurse practitioner students with clinical preceptors, partner with universities to expand clinical placement capacity, and help employers hire NPs directly.

Our University Partnerships team works with NP program leaders, deans, and placement coordinators to solve one of the biggest bottlenecks in NP education: finding quality clinical rotations. We're growing this team and building a dedicated business development function to support it.

The role

As a Business Development Representative on the University Partnerships team, you'll open doors with NP programs across the country. You'll research target universities, find the right decision-makers, start conversations by phone, email, and LinkedIn, and book qualified meetings for our partnerships leadership.

You'll also be a key part of our event presence, supporting roadshows and national conferences before, during, and after the show. This is a consultative, relationship-driven sale: we're looking for someone who is curious, persistent, and genuinely interested in how universities work.

  • Location: Hybrid in Atlanta, GA (in office 2–3 days per week), with travel up to 20% for conferences and roadshows
  • Type: Full-time
What you'll do
Prospecting and outreach
  • Build and work a targeted list of NP and APRN programs within your assigned territory.
  • Run multi-channel outreach (cold calls, personalized email sequences, and LinkedIn) to program directors, deans, and clinical placement coordinators.
  • Make consistent daily cold calls and handle early objections with a helpful, consultative approach.
  • Book qualified meetings for the partnerships team and hand them off with clear notes on the account and the opportunity.
Account research
  • Research target universities before outreach: program size, accreditation timelines, placement model, current challenges, and key stakeholders.
  • Map buying committees and identify champions inside each institution.
  • Keep account records, contacts, and activity accurate and up to date in our CRM.
Conferences and roadshows
  • Support national and regional events in addition to our regional roadshows.
  • Run pre-event outreach to book meetings with attendees, staff the booth, and capture leads on site.
  • Own post-event follow-up so every conversation gets a timely, relevant next step.
Team and process
  • Partner closely with marketing on campaigns, content, and messaging that resonates with academic audiences.
  • Share what you hear from the field (objections, trends, competitor mentions) to sharpen our positioning.
  • Track your activity and results against weekly and monthly goals.
What you bring
  • 1-2 years of experience in a BDR, SDR, or similar outbound sales role, ideally in B2B.
  • A track record of hitting or beating activity and meeting goals.
  • Comfort and confidence on the phone, including cold calling.
  • Hands-on experience with modern sales tools, such as a CRM (HubSpot or Salesforce), a sales engagement platform (Gong, Outreach, or Salesloft), LinkedIn Sales Navigator, and data/enrichment tools (ZoomInfo, Apollo, or Clay).
  • Strong research skills and the ability to turn what you learn into a relevant, personalized message.
  • Clear, professional writing for email and LinkedIn.
  • Willingness to travel for conferences and roadshows, and energy to work an event floor.
  • Organized, self-directed, and coachable.
Nice to have
  • Experience selling into higher education, or working inside a college or university.
  • Familiarity with nursing, healthcare education, or clinical training.
  • Exposure to account-based marketing (ABM) plays or tiered account strategies.
  • Experience supporting trade shows or conference booths.
  • Help solve a real problem: more clinical placements means more NPs entering a workforce that badly needs them.
  • Be one of the first BDRs on a new team, with real input into how the function is built.
  • Work closely with partnerships leadership and marketing, with clear room to grow into a closing role.
