Job description

About the opportunity

The Business Development Representative II (BDR II) is a critical role and extension of our direct sales force. The BDR II is an experienced business development professional, typically bringing 3+ years of relevant prospecting, business development, or sales experience. The BDR II is responsible for generating sales-qualified leads from scratch, developing strategic account engagement plans, and initiating conversations with decision makers that result in scheduled meetings with members of the Dayforce Sales team or attendance at Dayforce-sponsored events. The BDR II creates appointments for the Dayforce direct sales team through daily outbound prospecting, including targeted telephone, email, webinar, social media, face-to-face event, and tradeshow initiatives. In addition to consistently delivering against individual goals, the BDR II is expected to demonstrate strong territory management, advanced prospecting judgment, and the ability to navigate complex buying groups and longer sales cycles. The BDR II should communicate effectively in both written and oral form, actively listen to others’ ideas and perspectives, and possess the organizational skills needed to accomplish daily work goals. Documenting and tracking activity in our CRM system and using our marketing automation tools are integral to this job. A key to success is the ability to build credible connections with prospects that result in qualified sales conversations. Some travel may be required for corporate and sales team meetings.

This posting represents an ongoing opportunity within our organization. While there may not be an active vacancy at this time, we encourage interested candidates to apply. Applications will be reviewed periodically and retained for future openings.

What you'll get to do

  • Build rapport via telephone, social media and email through a long-term, multi-touch nurturing approach, tailoring outreach to prospect priorities and buying signals.

  • Partner closely with Sales Reps to strategically target accounts within a vertical-specific territory, prioritize account coverage, and identify qualified opportunities for Dayforce solutions against defined sales qualification criteria.

  • Manage calendar, campaigns, timely follow-up, account research, and engagement with Sales Reps while maintaining consistent execution against activity and pipeline goals.

  • Assess prospecting performance and account engagement strategies, identify what is and is not working, and proactively adjust messaging, sequencing, and channel mix to improve results.

  • Clearly articulate Dayforce's value proposition and competitive advantages in conversations and email communications by highlighting differentiators without mentioning competitors by name.

  • Develop a strong understanding of targeted prospects' Human Capital Management needs and connect business challenges to relevant Dayforce capabilities. New hires will be trained on current Dayforce products, processes, industry trends, and relevant skills needed for the role.

  • Consistently leverage CRM, social media, sales intelligence, and automation tools and processes to identify opportunities and capture market share through a systematic and disciplined approach.

  • Gather key account, contact, business, and buying-cycle information to update Salesforce.com CRM and determine an appropriate nurture path strategy.

  • Leverage Marketo and support lead-generation efforts driven by campaigns, direct mail, tradeshows, social media, face-to-face events, and webinars to engage prospects in discussions about Dayforce.

  • Follow standard operating procedures to capture all relevant information in Salesforce.com, accurately track first-call appointments, follow-up activity, opportunity progression, and account intelligence.

  • Maintain ongoing expertise in the overall value proposition tied to Dayforce's suite of products and services and the technology used to deliver Dayforce solutions.

  • Manage and develop relationships with HR, Payroll, Finance, Operations, IT, Recruiting, and Benefits leaders, including senior and executive-level stakeholders.

  • Identify and build out target companies in SFDC, developing broad and multi-threaded contact coverage across IT, HR, Payroll, Recruiting, Operations, Finance, and Benefits.

  • Develop a deep understanding of each prospect's evaluation cycle, buying process, business priorities, and stakeholder landscape, and maintain relevant engagement until the organization is ready to evaluate or purchase.

  • Use direct mail content and other targeted outreach to engage priority prospects, followed by coordinated email, social, and phone outreach to generate interest in exploring a partnership with Dayforce.

  • Conduct territory analysis and gap identification across contacts, vendor information, employee count, account coverage, and buying signals, then create and execute plans to close identified gaps.

  • Share effective prospecting practices, messaging insights, and territory learnings with peers and contribute to a high-performing, team-success-oriented BDR culture.

  • Support the onboarding and development of newer BDR team members through peer coaching, knowledge sharing, and demonstration of strong prospecting and CRM practices as needed.
