The Business Development Representative, Healthcare & Life Sciences will be responsible for identifying, engaging, and qualifying new business opportunities across the healthcare and life sciences ecosystem. This role will focus on building pipeline with health systems, pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies, medical technology organizations, payers, digital health companies, and other organizations investing in AI and data transformation.

The BDR will work closely with Innodata’s AI leadership to identify high-potential accounts, engage relevant technical and business decision makers, qualify opportunities, and transition qualified prospects into pilots and commercial engagements.

This role requires strong prospecting and communication skills combined with the ability to develop a working understanding of healthcare AI use cases, clinical and life sciences data, model development, and emerging agentic AI applications.

This role is approximately 70% outbound prospecting, account development, client-facing activity, and 30% account research & planning.

What You’ll Own:

Prospecting & Business Development

  • - Identify and source prospective customers across healthcare and life sciences, including health systems, pharmaceutical companies, biotechnology companies, medical technology organizations, payers, and digital health companies.
  • - Research target accounts to identify AI initiatives, strategic priorities, organizational changes, funding, product launches, and other potential business triggers.
  • - Identify and engage relevant decision makers across AI, data science, machine learning, clinical operations, R&D, medical affairs, technology, product, and digital transformation organizations.
  • - Develop highly targeted outbound campaigns using email, LinkedIn, industry events, conferences, and other prospecting channels.
  • - Conduct discovery calls to understand customer requirements, timelines, technical challenges, and potential commercial opportunities.
  • - Support the transition of qualified opportunities into pilots, proof-of-concept programs, and larger commercial engagements.
  • - Coordinate prospect meetings, follow-ups, presentations, demonstrations, and technical discussions with Innodata subject matter experts.

The BDR should have sufficient domain fluency to connect these capabilities to healthcare and life sciences use cases such as clinical AI assistants, medical documentation, patient engagement, medical imaging, clinical trials, drug development, pharmacovigilance, medical affairs, regulatory workflows, and enterprise AI applications.

You’ll Thrive in This Role If You Have:
  • - Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • - 2–5 years of experience in business development, technology sales, healthcare technology, life sciences, AI, data services, or a related field.
  • - Demonstrated success generating pipeline through targeted outbound prospecting.
  • - A consultative approach to business development focused on understanding customer problems rather than simply pitching products.
  • - Understanding of healthcare and life sciences workflows such as clinical operations, medical imaging, clinical trials, pharmacovigilance, medical affairs, drug development, patient engagement, or enterprise healthcare operations.
  • - Familiarity with healthcare and life sciences data, including clinical records, medical imaging, scientific literature, real-world data, or other multimodal medical datasets.
