Business Development Representative — Pipeline Conversion
About the Role
We're looking for a commercially driven Business Development Representative who can take ownership of qualified opportunities already in the pipeline and move them efficiently from first conversation to signature. This role is focused on deal progression, stakeholder engagement, disciplined follow-up, and closing revenue.
What You'll Do
Pipeline Ownership & Opportunity Progression
- Own an assigned portfolio of qualified opportunities and develop a clear close plan for each deal
- Respond quickly to inbound and internally sourced opportunities, confirm fit, and establish mutually agreed next steps
- Maintain consistent, thoughtful follow-up across email, phone, and LinkedIn to keep buying processes moving
- Identify stalled deals, uncover blockers, and re-engage stakeholders with relevant value propositions
- Maintain accurate stages, next steps, close dates, and forecasts in HubSpot
Deal Execution
- Lead discovery calls that clarify the business problem, desired outcomes, budget, timeline, decision criteria, and approval process
- Deliver focused product demonstrations and presentations tailored to stakeholder priorities
Handoff, Customer Context & Expansion Support
- Capture customer goals, commitments, and key context throughout the sales cycle to enable a smooth post-signature handoff
- Partner with customer success or account management during onboarding and remain available to clarify expectations established during the sale
- Identify potential expansion signals and route them to the appropriate owner
- Support the development of references, case studies, and referral opportunities when appropriate
Tooling, Process & Analysis
- Manage projects and internal workflows in monday.com
- Build reporting and analysis in Excel — pipeline models, territory analysis, deal economics
- Use Claude and other AI tools for research, drafting, deck creation, call prep, and analysis; share what works with the team
- Identify and fix gaps in process, templates, and enablement material as you run into them

What We're Looking For
Required
- 2–5+ years in a quota-carrying B2B sales, business development, or inside-sales role with responsibility for progressing and closing qualified opportunities
- A measurable record of converting existing pipeline into closed-won revenue and consistently advancing deals through defined sales stages
- Experience selling to and presenting in front of C-level and VP-level executives
- A track record of taking on work outside a defined job description and absorbing shifts in priority without losing momentum
- Hands-on proficiency with HubSpot or a comparable CRM, including opportunity management, task discipline, reporting, and forecasting
- Advanced PowerPoint skills — you can build a client-ready, visually credible deck from a blank slide
- Advanced Excel skills — pivot tables, lookups, and models built without hand-holding
- Strong written and verbal communication and executive presence
- Experience owning contracting and negotiation cycles
- Working knowledge of monday.com or a similar work management platform
- Regular use of AI tools in your workflow, and interest in how the technology applies to sales
Preferred
- Experience at a growth-stage company where the role and process were still being defined
- Light technical fluency: able to speak credibly about APIs, integrations, and data flows at a conceptual level, and to know when to bring in a solutions engineer
- Background selling technical, data, or AI-adjacent products
- History of building process and enablement assets, not only using them
How Success Will Be Measured
- Conversion rate of assigned qualified opportunities
- Pipeline stage progression and sales-cycle velocity
- Accuracy of deal data, next steps, and forecasts
- Timeliness and quality of follow-up with active buyers
