Job description

Base: $85,000 + $75 per meeting booked, uncapped

Equity: Included

Shields Group Search is partnering with an early-stage AI company transforming how commercial real estate firms operate.

Overview

Our client makes commercial real estate firms AI-native. They design, build, and run custom AI agents for acquisitions, investment management, and asset management teams. These agents are trained to each firm’s templates, criteria, and conventions, wired into the tools where work already happens, and run the moment work lands or on a schedule the customer sets.

They are hiring their first Business Development Representatives.

What they sell is already live inside customers today: firms using the platform save 10 to 15 hours per user per week and underwrite materially more deals without adding headcount.

The product earns its keep in the room. This seat gets it the room.

The Role

This seat owns the entire top of the funnel, in person in San Francisco.

You decide how the company reaches US commercial real estate firms and you run all of it: LinkedIn, email, phone, events, or whatever gets a principal to look up.

The people you are reaching are owners, acquisitions leads, and asset managers.

You book qualified meetings for the founders. The founders take every meeting you book, and everything up to that handoff is yours.

Quota after ramp is 30 booked meetings per month, and you choose the mix of channels that gets you there.

Ramp is half quota in month one and full quota by month two.

This seat grows into the company’s first closing role.

You will have real support behind you: a power dialer, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, mobile-first data, curated lists, sequences and scripts built from deals the company actually closed, and weekly reviews where the founders listen to your calls and read your emails with you.

What You Will Do
  • Own the outbound mix into curated lists of CRE decision-makers: phone, LinkedIn, and email. You pick the channel per account, five touches before rotation, every touch logged.
  • Write what you send. You get the company’s library and positioning to start from, and you sharpen both based on what actually gets replies.
  • Book the meeting while the interest is live: invite sent, time confirmed, decision-makers only.
  • Own the show-up: same-day recap, day-before confirmation, morning-of nudge. You get paid when the meeting is booked, so protecting the show rate is on you.
  • Bring what you hear back into the motion: weekly reviews with the founders sharpen the message, the list, and the product.
  • Learn the buyer’s vocabulary: OMs, underwriting models, rent rolls. Enough fluency to hold the line with a principal by week two.
  • Run your own research, prep, and follow-ups using the company’s AI agents. The company runs its own sales operation this way.
What We Are Looking For

Two things matter more than anything else on this list: you are relentless, and you are eager to learn.

The team will teach you commercial real estate, the product, and the craft of outbound.

They cannot teach you to keep going after the ninth no, or to want the feedback.

You do not need years of sales experience behind you, and they would rather have the hungrier candidate than the more experienced one.

  • Relentless. Nine of ten touches go unanswered, and that bores you rather than bothers you.
  • Eager to learn, and fast about it. You will be talking to principals about their own deals inside two weeks.
  • Coachable in the open. You want your calls and your emails reviewed, and Tuesday changes based on what Monday’s review found.
  • A clear, unhurried presence with senior people, on the phone and on the page.
  • Genuinely curious about the industry. You will end up reading about commercial real estate because you want to, not because the team asked.
  • Based in the San Francisco Bay Area and able to work in person with the team in San Francisco during US business hours.
  • Comfort with early-stage reality: a young brand, a playbook still being written, founders in every deal.
Preferred Experience
  • Time in or around commercial real estate: brokerage, property management, lending, or proptech.
  • Any work where you had to earn a stranger’s attention and keep it: sales, recruiting, fundraising, hospitality, or anything customer-facing.
  • Familiarity with LinkedIn outreach, email sequencing, or a power dialer.
Compensation and Benefits

Base: $85,000, plus $75 per meeting booked, uncapped.

How a booked meeting is defined is spelled out in your offer letter.

Equity: This role includes an equity grant in the company, sized for an early commercial hire. The amount is set out in your offer letter.

Full-time, in person in San Francisco, US business hours.

A paid growth path: This seat grows into the company’s first closing role.

Actual compensation depends on experience and will be confirmed in writing at offer.

Why Now

Every firm in commercial real estate is deciding right now how it will operate with AI, and almost none of them will figure it out from a cold inbox.

The fastest route to that decision is a conversation, and the conversations start with you.

The team cares about integrity, competitiveness, and craft.

If you want your calls and your copy coached by the people who close what you book, and a seat that pays on every meeting you book, we’d love to hear from you.
