Job summary

Midpen Media Center seeks an experienced Business Development & Production Services Manager to grow our professional media services and strengthen client relationships. Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, communications, media production, marketing, broadcasting, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant professional experience in business development, client relations, account management, media production, project coordination, studio operations, or a related area.
  • Strong organizational, project-management, and time-management skills.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities with businesses, nonprofits, schools, municipalities, government agencies, and community organizations.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with existing and prospective clients.
  • Respond to inquiries regarding professional video production, studio rentals, livestreaming, event production, and related media services.
  • Prepare proposals, estimates, scopes of work, and service agreements.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Director on business development strategies and revenue-growth opportunities.
  • Coordinate studio productions, field shoots, livestreams, and events.

Primary ResponsibilitiesBusiness Development & Revenue Growth — 35%
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities with businesses, nonprofits, schools, municipalities, government agencies, and community organizations.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with existing and prospective clients.
  • Respond to inquiries regarding professional video production, studio rentals, livestreaming, event production, and related media services.
  • Prepare proposals, estimates, scopes of work, and service agreements.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Director on business development strategies and revenue-growth opportunities.
  • Identify opportunities for repeat business, expanded services, and new partnerships.
  • Support outreach and follow-up with prospective clients.
Production & Project Coordination — 25%
  • Support and coordinate assigned production projects from initial inquiry through successful delivery.
  • Develop and maintain project timelines, schedules, and production documentation.
  • Coordinate studio productions, field shoots, livestreams, event productions, and private rentals as assigned.
  • Work with production personnel to identify staffing, equipment, scheduling, and resource needs.
  • Help ensure project expectations, timelines, deliverables, and responsibilities are clearly communicated.
  • Monitor assigned projects and flag scheduling, staffing, or client issues as needed.
  • Coordinate with clients, staff, contractors, volunteers, and vendors as appropriate.
Client Services — 20%
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for assigned clients and production projects.
  • Maintain clear, timely, and professional communication throughout the production process.
  • Coordinate project requirements, scheduling, production logistics, and follow-up.
  • Help ensure clients receive a consistent and professional experience from initial inquiry through final delivery.
  • Address routine client questions and concerns and elevate significant issues when appropriate.
  • Support long-term client relationships and repeat business.
Scheduling & Operational Support — 10%
  • Support scheduling and coordination across professional, studio, community, and event productions.
  • Maintain accurate production calendars and resource schedules.
  • Support production staffing coordination as needed.
  • Communicate schedules, assignments, call times, and project expectations to appropriate personnel.
  • Work collaboratively with the production team to help ensure resources are available for scheduled projects.
  • Assist with improving internal production workflows and scheduling processes.
Administration, CRM & Reporting — 10%
  • Maintain accurate client, project, and production records.
  • Track business development activity, client follow-up, and production activity.
  • Maintain Salesforce or other CRM records.
  • Support production documentation, invoicing coordination, and related administrative workflows.
  • Assist with periodic reports on business development, production activity, and studio utilization.
  • Support operational planning and continuous process improvement.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, communications, media production, marketing, broadcasting, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant professional experience in business development, client relations, account management, media production, project coordination, studio operations, or a related area.
  • Strong organizational, project-management, and time-management skills.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Experience preparing proposals, estimates, scopes of work, contracts, or similar client-facing documents.
  • Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and follow projects through to completion.
  • Strong attention to detail and reliable follow-through.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel.
  • Experience using CRM, scheduling, project-management, or production-management systems.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Business development, sales, partnership development, or account-management experience.
  • Experience in professional video production, broadcast, studio, livestream, or event production.
  • Experience coordinating staff, contractors, freelancers, vendors, or volunteers.
  • Familiarity with television studio and video production workflows.
  • Experience working with production estimates, budgets, or client billing.
  • Salesforce experience.
  • QuickBooks experience or willingness to learn.
  • Experience in nonprofit, community media, education, government, or public-service environments.
  • Knowledge of the San Francisco Peninsula business and nonprofit community.
  • Interest in media, technology, storytelling, and creative production.

Compensation & Benefits

Compensation:$35.00–$45.00 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience.
