Job summary

Hurtigruten is seeking a Business Development Manager to own and grow a designated Western US territory in a remote capacity. You will maximize sales with partners, identify new opportunities, and lead strategic plans to drive revenue.

The role requires 5+ years in sales and customer service, strong account management skills, and proficiency with Salesforce and PowerPoint. Travel within the territory is required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of sales and customer service experience.
  • Strong account management and business development experience.
  • Exceptional presentation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint.
  • Experience using CRM systems, preferably Salesforce.
  • Ability to travel throughout the territory as required.

Responsibilities

  • Develop territory plans to achieve and exceed sales targets.
  • Build and grow relationships with travel trade partners and accounts.
  • Create and implement annual sales and marketing plans with strategic partners.
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities to drive revenue growth.
  • Deliver training sessions, presentations, webinars, and product updates to travel advisors and consumers.
  • Organize and participate in industry events, trade shows, and consumer presentations.
  • Monitor market trends and competitor activity and share insights.
  • Maintain pipeline management, forecasting, and Salesforce activity.
  • Collaborate with Sales Ops, Customer Service, Marketing, and Group Sales teams.
  • Manage travel expenses and marketing investments for ROI.

What You'll Do

As Business Development Manager, you will own and develop a designated territory across the Western region of the United States, maximizing sales opportunities through existing partners while identifying and cultivating new business opportunities.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Develop and execute strategic territory plans to achieve and exceed sales targets
  • Build, manage, and grow relationships with key travel trade partners and accounts
  • Create and implement annual sales and marketing plans with strategic partners
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities to drive revenue growth
  • Deliver engaging training sessions, presentations, webinars, and product updates to travel advisors and consumers
  • Organize and participate in industry events, trade shows, and consumer presentations
  • Monitor market trends and competitor activity and provide insights to the wider team
  • Maintain accurate pipeline management, forecasting, and account activity within Salesforce
  • Collaborate closely with Sales Operations, Customer Service, Marketing, and Group Sales teams
  • Manage travel expenses and marketing investments to ensure strong return on investment
Required Qualifications
