Your role and responsibilities

Focusing on growth of the residential product portfolio in a defined geography, the business development manager will be responsible to identify key target customers (builders, strategic contractors, channel), develop engagement plan, develop client relationship and work jointly with the electrification sales, engineering, marketing and product management teams to position ABB’s value and expand share in the market. The work model for the role is: remote (#Li-Remote) within the Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana territory and requires 50% travel. This role is contributing to the Electrification Team. You will be mainly accountable for:

  1. Identify residential business development opportunities in strategic accounts utilizing a combination of industry data, leveraging existing ABB connections, direct customer visits and calls, and engaging in internal and external ABB Business discussions.
  2. Engage, maintain relationships, and create market expansion with electrical contractors (large and small), builders, and channel partners in collaboration with field sales teams. Drive increased market penetration for residential product lines.
  3. Work closely with the Product Marketing and Product Management team on market feedback, new product launches, pricing strategy, future product needs.
  4. Evaluate and identify multi-family contractors that are aligned well with sales and need support from an internal quotations team.
Qualifications for the role
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university or college (OR a High School Diploma / GED with a minimum of 10 years of experience in an industrial or utility role); Additional business education and/or certifications preferred
  • 10+ years in technical equipment sales or business development in the residential space preferred
  • Established relationships within the energy/power/electrical market, electrical contractors and channel partners, and ability to grow contacts within assigned accounts preferred
  • Ability to collaborate in a matrixed environment, experience with sales CRM or Salesforce
  • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.

While base salary is determined by things such as the successful applicant’s qualifications and experience, this position is expected to pay between $98,700 and $183,300 annually and is eligible for a short-term incentive plan/annual bonus.
