Reporting Line

This position reports to the VP - Residential Sales.

Role and Responsibilities

The Business Development Manager will focus on growing the residential product portfolio within a defined geography. Responsibilities include identifying key target customers (builders, strategic contractors, channel partners), developing engagement plans, fostering client relationships, and collaborating with sales, engineering, marketing, and product management teams to position ABB's value and expand market share.

The work model is remote (#Li-Remote) within the Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana territory, requiring 50% travel. This role contributes to the Electrification Team.

Main accountabilities include:

  • Identifying residential business development opportunities in strategic accounts through industry data, existing ABB connections, direct customer visits, calls, and internal/external business discussions.
  • Engaging with electrical contractors, builders, and channel partners to create market expansion and increase penetration of residential product lines, in collaboration with field sales teams.
  • Collaborating with Product Marketing and Product Management on market feedback, product launches, pricing strategies, and future product needs.
  • Evaluating and supporting multi-family contractors aligned with sales and requiring support from internal quotations teams.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university or college, or a High School Diploma/GED with at least 10 years of experience in an industrial or utility role; additional business education or certifications preferred.
  • 10+ years in technical equipment sales or business development within the residential sector preferred.
  • Established relationships within the energy, power, electrical markets, electrical contractors, and channel partners, with the ability to grow contacts within assigned accounts.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a matrixed environment, experience with CRM or Salesforce.
  • Applicants must have valid work authorization for the US.

Base salary ranges from $98,700 to $183,300 annually, plus eligibility for a short-term incentive plan/bonus. More details at myBenefitsABB.com.
