Base pay range

$100,000.00/yr - $175,000.00/yr

Job Purpose

The Business Development Manager drives sales of integrated distributed energy resource systems for commercial, industrial, healthcare, and data center clients. The role focuses on building market presence by identifying, developing, negotiating, and closing partnerships with businesses. Responsibilities include tracking account progress in the CRM system and supporting the dealer onboarding process in collaboration with Dealer Acquisition, Sales Engineering, and Inside Sales teams.

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Generate and follow up on high-quality sales leads, secure and renew orders, negotiate pricing, complete sales, and coordinate deliveries.
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities to enhance the availability, reliability, and value of company products and services.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, utility representatives, contractors, consultants, and other stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with customers and engineers to assess equipment needs and system requirements, ensuring proposed solutions meet client specifications.
  • Work with the team to prepare budgetary cost estimates, contracts, RFP proposals, and Energy Service Agreements.
  • Support the definition of project scope, deliverables, and budgets to align with organizational goals and client expectations.
  • Research utility interconnection standards and ensure solutions comply with all requirements.
  • Partner with engineers to develop cost-effective proposals based on customer inputs and technical requirements.
  • Track account progress and sales activities in the company CRM system.
  • Support the dealer onboarding process in collaboration with Dealer Acquisition, Sales Engineering, and Inside Sales teams.


Basic Qualifications

  • 12+ years of business development experience in energy distribution, with a focus on sales, marketing, or related fields.
  • Bachelor's in business or equivalent degree in a relevant field.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven self-starter with exceptional organizational skills and a creative, solution-oriented mindset.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse teams in a fast-paced environment.
  • High integrity and adherence to ethical standards.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of project management experience in energy distribution or related fields.
  • MBA or equivalent advanced degree in a relevant field.
  • Experience with electric power distribution and standby generator systems.
  • Knowledge of electrical design, building industry codes, and standards (e.g., IEEE, NEC).


Work Location

Remote work is encouraged, with a preference for candidates based in Florida. Location details will be discussed during the hiring process.

Travel

Visit job sites as required to support project development and client relationships.
