This position reports to

Sales Manager


Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to develop, implement, and manage new business development initiatives within industry strategies, focusing on growth and customer satisfaction. Your responsibilities include positioning sales and service activities for maximum market penetration, monitoring current projects, and resolving specific customer issues. You will be the authority on new techniques and technology within measurement and analytics. The work model for this role is remote. This position contributes to the Process Automation Measurement & Analytics Instrumentation Sales division. Main accountabilities include:

  1. Sales strategies: Understand key business drivers relevant to targeted customers and interpret their impact and opportunities for ABB. Participate in developing sales strategies for targeted accounts and projects.
  2. Sales targets: Define and propose sales targets for accounts and large projects, ensuring their achievement through structured follow-up across Business Lines and countries.
  3. Account planning: Lead the development and implementation of account plans, including relationship strategies, opportunity prioritization, and portfolio targeting.
  4. Customer relations: Establish and develop account relationships based on strategic plans. Act as the focal point for problem resolution, monitor customer claims, and facilitate negotiations.

Qualifications for the role
  • Strong time, activity, and priority management skills
  • 10+ years' experience in measurement and analytical industry
  • Leverage existing industry relationships to generate new opportunities for ABB
  • Ability to develop and implement structured sales processes and strategies to improve efficiency and success
  • Deep competitor knowledge; passion for sales and winning
  • Focus on end users' needs, goals, and buying behavior, and how they maintain equipment and partner with suppliers
  • Ability to build relationships at all levels within ABB, channel partners, and end users
  • Willingness and ability to travel, up to 75+ nights per year depending on location and project needs
