Business Development Manager – Marine Industry

Location: Charlotte, NC; Remote, preferably in the Southeast U.S.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and driven Business Development Manager to join our team and play a key role in expanding our presence across territories. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and managing relationships with our dealer network, driving sales growth within your assigned region by developing affiliate partnerships, and identifying new sales and partnership opportunities. You will be a brand ambassador, working closely with dealers to provide product training, marketing support, and sales guidance. This is a field-based role that requires extensive travel (50%+) to visit dealers, attend industry events, and build relationships within the marine community. Key Responsibilities

Dealer Relationship Management

  1. Build and maintain strong relationships with existing dealers in your assigned territory.
  2. Provide ongoing support to dealers, including product training, sales guidance, and marketing assistance.
  3. Conduct regular visits to dealer locations to identify sales opportunities and address any challenges.
  4. Collaborate with dealers to develop and implement effective sales strategies.
  5. Assist with onboarding new dealers and provide them with the necessary resources and support.
  6. Responsible for training and providing ongoing support to dealers on the proper methods for measuring and installing all product types.

Sales Growth & Business Development

  1. Achieve sales targets and revenue goals within your assigned territory.
  2. Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the marine industry.
  3. Develop and execute sales plans to increase market share and brand visibility.
  4. Analyze sales data and market trends to identify growth opportunities and adjust strategies accordingly.
  5. Collaborate with the marketing team to develop and implement effective marketing campaigns.

Industry Events & Partnerships

  1. Represent Marine Concepts at industry trade shows, boat shows, and other events.
  2. Network with key stakeholders in the marine industry, including dealers, distributors, and manufacturers.
  3. Identify and develop strategic partnerships with complementary businesses to expand market reach.

Qualifications

  1. 3+ years of experience in sales, business development, or account management, preferably within the marine or boating industry.
  2. Proven track record of achieving sales targets and exceeding customer expectations.
  3. Strong understanding of the marine industry and its key players.
  4. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  5. Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients and partners.
  6. Proficiency in CRM software (e.g., HubSpot) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  7. Willingness to travel (50%+).
  8. Bachelor's degree in business or a related field is preferred, but not required.
