About the Role

We are seeking a high-performing Business Development Manager (BDM) to accelerate Freight Club’s growth across North America. This role will focus on driving outbound business development efforts—identifying, targeting, and closing high-potential eCommerce brands, FBM sellers, and vendors looking to enable drop-ship programs or improve their LTL/parcel logistics. This is a remote-flexible role based in Canada, with approximately 30% of travel to the US to attend trade shows, events, and client meetings.

As the BDM, you will be responsible for landing new logos and expanding into new verticals, particularly within furniture, home, fitness, and other large-goods categories where Freight Club provides unmatched logistics technology and drop-ship enablement. You will be in the driver’s seat to scale Freight Club’s outbound channel and represent our brand in the field.

Your Responsibilities

  • Drive Outbound Growth: Prospect, engage, and close new mid-market and enterprise-level clients, with a strong emphasis on FBM sellers, Shopify/DTC brands, Amazon sellers, and vendors.
  • Build Pipeline: Develop a targeted outbound approach using email, LinkedIn, cold-calling, and trade shows. Work closely with Account Directors and marketing to convert high-intent leads.
  • Own their Sales Cycle: Manage the full sales cycle from first touch to signed contract, including discovery, technical walkthroughs, proposals, and onboarding handoff.
  • Segment Expansion: Identify and pursue new high-potential verticals aligned with Freight Club’s strengths in LTL, large parcel, and eCommerce dropshipping logistics.
  • Be the Voice of the Customer: Act as a strategic advisor by deeply understanding client logistics challenges and collaborating with product, operations, and account management to deliver solutions.
  • Travel: Attend trade shows, in-person client visits, and regional prospecting opportunities to grow brand presence and trust.

You Bring

  • Experience: 5+ years in a quota-carrying B2B sales or business development role, preferably in freight, logistics, eCommerce enablement, or a SaaS-based shipping platform.
  • Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of LTL, large-parcel shipping, or eCommerce fulfillment, ideally with knowledge of dropship logistics or 3PL/digital freight solutions.
  • Sales Chops: A hunter mentality with a track record of consistently exceeding revenue goals and converting cold leads into strategic accounts.
  • Business Acumen: Ability to understand customer operations, supply chain pain points, and create compelling ROI-driven proposals.
  • Tools & Tech: Experience with CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce or HubSpot), prospecting platforms, and sales enablement tools.
  • Presence: Strong verbal and written communication skills; capable of presenting Freight Club’s value to senior stakeholders and decision-makers.
  • Autonomy & Drive: Entrepreneurial mindset—comfortable building in ambiguity, testing new channels, and moving quickly.

Nice to Have

  • Experience selling into mid-sized or fast-growing Shopify, Amazon FBM, or other digital-native verticals.
  • Background in launching new markets, products, or outbound sales channels.
  • Participation in trade shows or events with a focus on logistics, eCommerce, or retail tech.

Compensation

The Salary Range for this role is between $60,000 and $75,000 plus bonus, depending on experience. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level and location. We offer a comprehensive range of benefits which includes:
