Description

About the role: The Business Development Manager – Energy (BDM - Energy) leads the development and implementation of BMT’s growth plans in the petroleum energy space in North America. Reporting to the Future Business Director – North America, the role involves building a pipeline of high-quality opportunities, working closely with regional and internal teams, and contributing to BMT’s growth and capability expansion.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Identifying and qualifying engineering consulting and solution opportunities.
  • Leading pursuit efforts and guiding other pursuits.
  • Building strategic client relationships.
  • Researching market trends and client needs to inform strategy.
  • Developing a pipeline of opportunities to support sustainable growth.
  • Supporting budget development and order intake targets.
  • Contributing to BMT’s strategic input and major bids.
  • Gathering and utilizing client feedback for business improvement.
Location & Flexibility:

Based in Houston, TX. Hybrid role requiring office presence and travel to client sites or meetings. Full-time position.

Essential requirements:
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in Business Development or Sales.
  • Strong business acumen and market analysis skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Experience networking with senior industry leaders.
  • Proven ability to formulate and execute BD strategies.
  • Ability to influence and motivate others.
  • Market knowledge and understanding of client behaviors and trends.
  • Networking skills at local and international levels.
  • Strong reasoning and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to build effective working relationships.
  • Adaptability to changing needs.
  • Personal drive to grow the business.
Desirable:
  • University degree in business or engineering.
  • Bilingual in English/French.
