Job summary

Orion Solutions Group in Houston seeks an Ocean/Air Freight Forwarding BDM to join the commercial team. You will expand the company’s portfolio, develop new sales opportunities, and drive revenue growth from an international client base.

The role is based near the Houston area with a hybrid work model (1 day in office, 4 days remote). Your responsibilities include growing ocean/air freight business, generating leads, preparing quotes and P&Ls, and coordinating meetings and travel for

• Minimum of 3 years of international logistics, warehousing, or supply chain experience.

Responsibilities

• Grow the freight forwarding book for ocean/air freight and important/export business.
• Identify and create new leads through referrals, cold calls, and marketing efforts.
• Prepare P&L for costing on all new business opportunities, including rate changes analysis.
• Prepare quotes in line with new business or changes in existing business.
• Coordinate meetings, events, and travel arrangements for potential business.
• Update work file registers of sales targets and planning to monitor focus areas.

Responsibilities:

• Grow the freight forwarding book for ocean/air freight and important/export business.
• Identify and create new leads through referrals, cold calls, and marketing efforts.
• Prepare P&L for costing on all new business opportunities, this includes analysis for implementing rate changes.
• Prepare quotes in line with new business and or changes in existing business.
• Coordinate meetings, events, and travel arrangements for potential business.
• Update work file registers of sales targets and planning to keep an eye on focus areas, sales activity and overview of projects.
• Conduct studies for relevant projects.
• Stay current on industry trends, services, and competitor activities.
• Communicate with customer service team regarding information pertaining to customer changes and updates.
