Job summary

First Student is seeking a seasoned Charter Sales professional to drive growth in charter revenue. You will prospect, develop, and close new business with large-volume regional accounts while maintaining strong relationships with charter centers and operations leadership.

You will lead presentations and bids, stay informed on transportation market trends, and travel about a quarter of the time to promote our solutions to decision-makers. Fluency in English and a proven track record are essential.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 5 years of sales experience.
  • Strong knowledge of advanced sales techniques.
  • Ability to manage long, complex sales cycles.
  • Excellent oral, written, and presentation skills for C-level buyers.

Job description

Major Responsibilities
  • Grow charter sales to meet and or exceed annual/quarterly/monthly established Charter Revenue Goals, Targets & Objectives

  • Prospects and develops new business. Generates inquiries & works them through to booking.

  • Develops and maintains strong working relationships with their Charter Center peers and key Operations personnel (LM/AGM/RVP/SVP)

  • Builds, manages and maintains relationships with key prospect/customer decision-makers and influencers to ensure new growth and retention of existing accounts & customers.

  • Navigates complex sales channels while continually moving the sales process forward during sometimes lengthy sales processes.

  • Prepares and leads presentations, proposals, and bid processes to strategically win new business.

  • Gathers market, prospect, and customer intelligence. Stays abreast of changes in the transportation market which could open business opportunities.

  • Works to become a transportation industry expert that will lead to Initiating strategies utilizing our core strengths in untapped markets.

  • Is visible in the transportation industry by attending, networking, and fully participating in trade shows, exhibits, and other opportunities to promote the company as the transportation solution.

  • Focusing on large volume regional accounts > $15,000 in transactions.

  • Travel 25% of the time.

Minimum Experience or Skills Required
  • Bachelor's degree

  • 5 years' sales experience

  • Superior knowledge of sophisticated sales techniques and methodologies

  • Proven ability to manage a protracted and complicated sales process

  • Exceptional oral, written, and presentation communication skills with ability to sell to "C-level" executives

  • Fluent in English

  • Ability to win sale without being lowest priced solution

  • Track record of success

  • Experience in the transportation industry (transit, cargo, express, package, waste disposal, armored car, etc.) preferred

  • Salesforce.com

Compensation ranges from $65,000 - $85,000 (plus commission) depending on experience.

Language Requirement

This role requires English proficiency. Federal, state, and local requirements, including U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, require training, safety communications, company policies, employment documents, and other job-related communications be conducted in English.
