Business Development Manager (National Security)

Location: Washington, D.C., United States

Are you a mission-driven business development professional ready to lead federal strategy for one of the most impactful energy technologies of the decade?

On offer is the opportunity to spearhead business development with the U.S. Department of Defense and key federal agencies, driving top-down and bottom-up demand for next-generation modular power systems. You’ll work at the intersection of defense, energy, and innovation, helping establish new capability programs, secure funding pipelines, and shape future energy resilience for national security.

This role is ideal for a former military leader or federal BD expert who knows how to navigate DoD procurement, thrives on strategy and execution, and is passionate about breakthrough energy solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead business generation with DoD, NASA, the IC, and related federal agencies.

• Identify, develop, and secure new funding opportunities for deployable nuclear power systems.

• Shape and influence government requirements and budgets to establish long-term acquisition pathways.

• Build and maintain senior-level relationships across COCOMs, service branches, and acquisition offices.

• Own proposals, white papers, and program engagement across the PPBE cycle.

• Serve as a key voice and strategist for national security power innovation efforts.

Essential Skills and Experience

• Demonstrated success in business development within the DoD or federal agencies.

• Deep knowledge of the DoD PPBE process, acquisition lifecycles, and contracting mechanisms (FAR, OTAs, etc).

• Track record shaping pre-solicitation requirements and influencing acquisition strategy.

• Strong understanding of the Congressional authorization/appropriation process.

• Based in Washington, D.C., with ability to travel as needed to meet federal stakeholders.

• Must be authorized to work in the United States.

• This is a full-time, based in Washington, D.C.
