The Opportunity

We’re seeking a hunter-minded Business Development Manager with a strong accounting/finance background and a proven track record in selling professional services (consulting, staffing, or executive search). You’ll drive new client acquisition, positioning Orion’s expertise in:

  • Finance & Accounting Consulting (interim staffing, project support, transformation)
  • Executive Search (leadership hiring for CFOs, Controllers, VPs of Finance, and more)

This role offers uncapped bonus potential and the chance to build a high-impact book of business in a supportive, team-oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Hunt and close new business through proactive outreach, networking, and leveraging industry relationships.
  • Engage finance & accounting leaders (CFOs, Controllers, VPs) to understand their talent and project needs.
  • Own the full sales cycle—from prospecting to pitching, negotiating, and closing deals.
  • Collaborate with Orion’s expert delivery teams to ensure seamless client onboarding and long-term success.
  • Represent Orion at industry events, conferences, and associations to expand our market presence.
  • Stay ahead of trends in accounting regulations, digital finance (AI/ERP), and talent strategy to position our services effectively.

Who We’re Looking For

  • 3+ years in B2B sales. Professional services (consulting, staffing, or executive search) is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of accounting/finance (e.g., CPA background, prior role in accounting, or selling to finance leaders).
  • Proven hunter mentality—you love the thrill of opening doors and winning new business.
  • Existing network of accounting/finance executives is a plus
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • A team player who thrives in a collaborative, high-performance culture.
