Job description

Business Development Manager

Company Overview Wild West Systems is an American defense technology company with the mission to equip the civilized world with superior and affordable arms and advanced technologies - to dominate the battlefield of present and future threats, in a new era of asymmetrical warfare. We fuse versatile domain experience with novel approach and creativity to change the paradigm of defense - both for military arenas and civilian soft targets. We're an early-stage startup, rapidly moving and growing.

General Qualifications

Love for America and passion for Wild West System's mission. Self-starter, capable of performing tasks as an individual as well as working well in a team. Bias for action. ITAR REQUIREMENT: To conform to U.S. Government export regulations, applicant must be a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (aka green card holder), (iii) Refugee under 8 U.S.C. 1157, or (iv) Asylee under 8 U.S.C. 1158, or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.

  • Position Overview Wild West Systems is seeking a Business Development Manager to own both sides of the growth equation - building relationships that generate pipeline and serving as the primary customer-facing representative for WWS products in the field.

You will be responsible for identifying and developing new business opportunities across the customer community while simultaneously owning the live demonstration and customer solutions function. That means cultivating relationships and executing product demonstrations, supporting capability assessments, and translating warfighter feedback into requirements that shape the WWS product roadmap.

The right candidate has deep operational experience and personal credibility with the warfighter community, combined with the hunger to help build a company and grow a book of business. Prior defense industry experience is a plus, not a prerequisite. The ability to find opportunity, build relationships, and close is.

Responsibilities
  • Identify, qualify, and develop new business opportunities across Army, Marine Corps, Navy, Air Force, and SOCOM communities - owning the relationship from first contact through pipeline entry
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute live product demonstrations for operational units, commands, program offices, and government evaluators
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships in the customer community
  • Serve as the primary WWS representative at field engagements, capability assessments, and operational experiments
  • Capture and document warfighter feedback from every customer interaction - translating operational pain points and TTPs into actionable product requirements for engineering and program leadership
  • Develop customer-tailored solutions briefs and demonstration scenarios that connect WWS capabilities to specific unit missions and threat environments
  • Support capture activities by providing operational context, customer intelligence, and user-level insight to the executive leadership
  • Represent WWS at key industry and military events
Required Skills And Experience
  • Natural ability to communicate complex technical capabilities in plain, mission-relevant language to audiences ranging from junior operators to general officers
  • Comfort operating independently in dynamic, fast-moving environments with minimal administrative support
  • S. Citizen or eligible to work under ITAR requirements
Preferred Skills and Experience
  • Direct operational experience with UAS threats, counter-UAS TTPs, or lethal fires systems - you have used or operated against the kinds of threats WWS products address
  • Established personal relationships within the customer community
  • Experience in the defense industry technical sales, solutions engineering, or field applications role
  • Familiarity with Army or SOCOM acquisition processes, OTAs, and rapid fielding pathways
