Business Development Manager | Bristol, IN (North)

Regular Employee | Salary Exempt | $110,000.00 - 125,000.00

What you’ll do

Meet or exceed sales objectives of assigned accounts or territory by promoting the company’s suite of fleet solutions. Utilize consultative selling and professional sales techniques to continuously develop long‑term customer relationships, increase profit margins, and acquire new clients.

Job Responsibilities
  • Deliver profitable sales to the organization.
  • Execute consultative selling process and secure long‑term client commitments that deliver sustainable growth.
  • Meet minimum performance goals (MPG) established by Sales Leadership.
  • Deliver the company value proposition with the goal of signing new business.
  • Secure business focusing on van and pickup truck accessories and grow existing accounts.
  • Increase company market share through cold calls and prospect follow‑up from leads provided by corporate, referrals, mailing lists, etc.
  • Develop new/additional business through relationship building and solutions delivery.
  • Organically develop and maintain a database of prospects within an assigned responsibility.
  • Qualify prospects through consultative selling process, including effective pre‑call planning.
  • Determine and recommend if the prospect is a viable client for the company.
  • Document sales‑related activity in CRM software (Salesforce).
  • Assess prospect need against available products and services.
  • Develop and present sales proposals including product selection, terms of sale, delivery dates, etc., following company guidelines.
  • Make professional presentations and conduct sales meetings with fleet decision makers and other C‑level personnel.
  • Develop data relative to marketing trends, competitive products, and pricing.
  • Submit marketing intelligence to Sales Leadership.
  • Complete required activity, pipeline reports, expense reports, CRM activity, and other reports at Management discretion within defined timeline.
  • Submit sales forecast with prospect, quantity, and sales price for operations team to develop capacity planning, engineering resources, material planning, and assembly manpower needs.
  • Conduct route rides to gather prospect input and identify needs to match with UTM business solution; partner with segment engineer to communicate prospect wants.
  • Identify marketing programs and sales aids that would increase sales.
  • Communicate needs to marketing team with potential sales impact and requested resources timing.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required; bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, or related field preferred.
  • 3–5 years minimum business‑to‑business outside sales experience.
  • Good understanding of the consultative sales process and general business operations.
  • Ability to communicate the value and benefit of our products and core value propositions.
  • Strong analytical, interpersonal, and presentation skills; ability to develop compelling proposals that identify financial impact.
  • Experience in the commercial work truck and van upfitting industry preferred.
  • Solution‑driven, highly creative and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to analyze factors, develop effective sales strategy, meet client needs, and close sales.
  • High level of determination, initiative, perseverance, and resiliency.
  • Ability to establish priorities and meet objectives.
  • Maintains a “can do” attitude in the face of customer rejection.
  • Competent in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Internet, and Salesforce.
  • Travel up to 50% of the time using motor vehicle or public transportation.
