Job summary

Satterfield & Pontikes Construction, Inc. is seeking a Business Development Manager to identify and secure program management and owner’s representative opportunities across the United States from its Houston team.

The ideal candidate will be highly connected, a skilled relationship-builder, and adept at opening doors with clients pursuing large-scale projects. The role emphasizes building a strong network within education, aviation, pharmaceutical, and healthcare sectors, leading proposal

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years in business development, sales, client relations, or related role within construction or professional services.
  • Experience pursuing program management, owner's representative, construction management, or related consulting opportunities.
  • Strong network of industry contacts and decision-makers within target markets.
  • Experience with education, aviation, pharmaceutical, and healthcare projects preferred.
  • Proven ability to develop and execute successful business development strategies.
  • Experience leading proposals, presentations, and client interviews.
  • Ability to travel as needed to support BD efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a thorough understanding of target markets, services, resources, and strategic objectives.
  • Identify and pursue opportunities aligned with company growth goals.
  • Develop client-specific and opportunity-specific pursuit strategies.
  • Lead Go/No-Go discussions and support pursuit decisions.
  • Coordinate internal teams to position the company for targeted opportunities.
  • Build and maintain relationships with owners, developers, program managers, consultants, and industry stakeholders.
  • Identify and participate in networking events and industry organizations.
  • Research and identify prospective clients, projects, and market opportunities nationwide.
  • Meet with potential clients to understand project needs and procurement strategies.
  • Develop relationships with key decision-makers and influencers for long-term growth.
  • Lead proposal development and interview preparation activities.
  • Collaborate with operations to align pursuits with capabilities and priorities.
  • Monitor market trends and competitive activity.

In this role, you will be instrumental in identifying and securing Program Management and Owner's Representative opportunities across the United States. The ideal candidate will be highly connected, an exceptional relationship-builder, and skilled at opening doors with clients pursuing projects ranging from $25 million to $500 million. Experience within the education, aviation, pharmaceutical, and healthcare sectors is highly desirable.
