Job description

Business Development Manager – IT Staff Augmentation & Direct Hire

Work Arrangement: Hybrid

Employment Type: Full-Time

About the Role

PRI Technology is seeking an experienced, results-driven Business Development Manager to join our team in Denville, NJ. This is an onsite, new-business-focused sales role for an individual with a proven track record of generating new clients and revenue within the IT staffing, technology consulting, professional services, or related B2B industry.

The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying and developing new business opportunities for IT staff augmentation, contract, contract-to-hire, and direct-hire recruiting services. This individual should be a true business development professional who is comfortable prospecting, making outbound calls, securing meetings with senior decision-makers, developing relationships, and ultimately converting opportunities into new client engagements.

This is an opportunity for a motivated sales professional who enjoys the challenge of building a book of business from the ground up and wants to be part of an established technology staffing organization.

Key Responsibilities

New Business Development

  • Identify, target, and develop relationships with prospective clients that have ongoing or anticipated IT hiring and staffing needs.

  • Generate new business through cold calling, email outreach, LinkedIn prospecting, networking, referrals, and other business development activities.

  • Develop relationships with CIOs, CTOs, CISOs, IT Directors, Hiring Managers, HR leaders, Talent Acquisition professionals, and Procurement/Vendor Management teams.

  • Schedule and conduct client meetings to understand business objectives, technology initiatives, hiring challenges, and workforce requirements.

  • Develop and maintain a healthy pipeline of qualified prospects and opportunities.

  • Convert prospecting activity into new client relationships, staffing requisitions, and revenue.

  • Expand relationships within existing accounts by identifying additional departments, hiring managers, and business opportunities.

Client Relationship Development

  • Serve as a trusted business partner to clients by understanding their technology staffing challenges and providing appropriate recruiting and staffing solutions.

  • Consult with clients regarding workforce planning, talent availability, market conditions, compensation, and hiring strategies.

  • Maintain consistent communication with clients throughout the sales and recruiting process.

  • Work closely with recruiting and delivery teams to ensure client requirements are clearly understood and effectively serviced.

  • Develop long-term relationships that generate repeat and expanded business.

  • Promote PRI Technology's IT staffing solutions, including:

  • Contract IT staffing

  • Staff augmentation

  • Contract-to-hire

  • Specialized technology recruiting

  • Executive and professional-level technology search

  • Develop a strong understanding of current IT skill sets, technology trends, talent markets, and competitive staffing dynamics.

  • Negotiate pricing, terms, and service agreements in partnership with company leadership.

  • Manage opportunities through the complete business development lifecycle, from initial prospecting through close and ongoing account development.

Sales Activity & Pipeline Management

  • Consistently achieve or exceed individual business development goals.

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date prospect, opportunity, and activity information within the company's CRM.

  • Track calls, meetings, opportunities, proposals, and closed business.

  • Develop strategic territory and account plans.

  • Provide regular pipeline and sales activity updates to management.

  • Continuously identify new industries, companies, departments, and decision-makers that represent potential business opportunities.

Qualifications

Required

  • Proven business development/sales experience, preferably within IT staffing, technology services, recruiting, consulting, or another B2B professional services environment.

  • Demonstrated history of generating new business and acquiring new clients.

  • Strong outbound prospecting and cold-calling skills.

  • Experience selling to IT and/or HR/Talent Acquisition decision-makers.

  • Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.

  • Ability to independently identify prospects, create opportunities, and drive the sales process forward.

  • Strong business acumen and consultative selling skills.

  • Highly motivated, competitive, persistent, and results-oriented.

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.

  • Comfortable working in an onsite, team-oriented sales environment.

  • Proficiency with CRM systems, Microsoft Office, LinkedIn, and other sales/business development tools.

Preferred

  • Existing relationships with CIOs, CTOs, IT leaders, HR executives, Talent Acquisition professionals, or Procurement/Vendor Management organizations.

  • Previous experience selling IT staff augmentation and/or direct-hire recruiting services.

  • Established network of potential clients or prospects within the New Jersey/New York metropolitan market.

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.

What We're Looking For

We are looking for a hunter, not someone who primarily waits for inbound opportunities.

The ideal candidate:

  • Enjoys picking up the phone and opening new doors.

  • Has a demonstrated history of winning new accounts.

  • Is comfortable hearing "no" and continuing to pursue the opportunity.

  • Can establish credibility with senior technology and business executives.

  • Knows how to turn a prospect into a meeting, a meeting into an opportunity, and an opportunity into revenue.

  • Understands that successful staffing sales requires both consistent activity and strong relationship development.

  • Takes ownership of a territory and pipeline and is accountable for results.

  • Is entrepreneurial, persistent, competitive, and motivated by achievement.
