Job summary

Ray Thomas in Dallas, a top national law firm, seeks an experienced Business Development Manager to join a strategic, attorney-facing team supporting a major Real Estate practice with Texas focus.

You will partner with senior attorneys to craft growth strategies, lead proposals, cross-sell services, and mentor junior staff while collaborating across Marketing, CRM, Events, and regional teams in a hybrid work model.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Ideally 4+ years of business development/marketing experience.
  • Legal or professional services experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience working directly with senior-level stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with the Texas business market is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Partner directly with attorneys and practice leaders on business development and growth strategy.
  • Develop and execute strategic business development plans.
  • Identify client expansion, cross-selling, and new business opportunities.
  • Lead RFPs, pitches, proposals, and other major business development initiatives.
  • Coach attorneys on pitch strategy and presentation delivery.
  • Conduct market, competitive, industry, and target-client research.
  • Support practice positioning, thought leadership, rankings, directories, and awards.
  • Oversee marketing collateral, website content, deal lists, events, sponsorships, and client programs.
  • Collaborate across Marketing, Communications, CRM, Events, and regional teams.
  • Mentor and support junior team members as needed.

This is a highly strategic, attorney-facing position supporting a major Real Estate practice, with a primary focus on the Texas market and additional responsibility for West Coast offices. The person will serve as a trusted business advisor to attorneys and practice leaders, helping drive client growth, market strategy, cross-selling, and new business opportunities

What We're Looking For
