  • Track record of success in strategic business development and new customer acquisition in complex industrial markets.
  • Experience in industrial coatings, corrosion control, surface preparation, or related technical market.
  • Experience building relationships with major asset owners and navigating complex organizations.
  • Ability to influence technical specifications and purchasing decisions.
  • Strong technical aptitude to understand customer challenges and position complex equipment.
  • Knowledge of heavy industrial sectors such as oil and gas, petrochemical, marine, shipyards, fabrication.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a business development strategy focused on key markets and target accounts across the Gulf Coast.
  • Build relationships with major asset owners and engage engineering, maintenance, reliability, corrosion, coatings, and other technical and commercial stakeholders.
  • Navigate complex organizations and establish relationships across multiple levels of the customer organization.
  • Identify upcoming projects, maintenance programs, and capital investments where the company's equipment and technology can add value.
  • Influence technical specifications, project requirements, and purchasing decisions early in the project lifecycle.
  • Introduce customers to blasting, painting, surface preparation, and corrosion control technologies while serving as a knowledgeable resource throughout the sales process.
  • Partner closely with territory sales, inside sales, technical, and operational teams to convert opportunities into project level business.
  • Develop new relationships and market opportunities across oil and gas, petrochemical, marine, fabrication, and related industrial sectors.
  • Build and manage a long term pipeline within a complex, relationship driven sales environment.

As part of this growth, they are seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to strengthen relationships with major industrial organizations and create new opportunities across the Gulf Coast.

Position Overview

The Business Development Manager is a strategic individual contributor responsible for developing relationships with major asset owners across oil and gas, petrochemical, marine, fabrication, and other heavy industrial markets. Rather than traditional territory sales, this role focuses on engaging customers earlier in the decision making process, navigating complex organizations, and building relationships with both technical and commercial stakeholders. You will serve as a trusted resource to customers while helping position the company's equipment and technologies for consideration in future projects, specifications, and operating practices.

Position Qualifications
  • A demonstrated track record of success in strategic business development and new customer acquisition within complex industrial markets.
  • Progressive sales or business development experience within industrial coatings, corrosion control, surface preparation, or a closely related technical market.
  • Experience developing relationships directly with major asset owners and navigating complex customer organizations.
  • Proven ability to build credibility with multiple technical and commercial stakeholders throughout a long sales cycle.
  • Experience influencing technical specifications, project requirements, or purchasing decisions.
  • Strong technical aptitude with the ability to understand customer challenges and effectively position complex equipment and solutions.
  • Knowledge of heavy industrial markets including oil and gas, petrochemical, marine, shipyards, fabrication, or related sectors.
Preferred
  • Established knowledge of the Gulf Coast industrial market.
  • NACE, AMPP, or other relevant coatings or corrosion credentials.
