Position Location(s): Chicago, IL

Where you will work: This role is primarily remote in Chicago, IL, with the ability to travel to the nearest office as needed.

A Day in the Life of the Business Development Manager:
  1. Negotiate new Right of Entry (Access) agreements with property owners and management firms, including contract negotiations with landlords and property decision-makers.
  2. Re-negotiate renewal of contracts to ensure continued service to building tenants.
  3. Build and maintain relationships within the commercial real estate market, engaging with developers, property owners, managers, boards, and associations through various communication channels.
  4. Implement strategies to expand presence in existing and new markets, targeting revenue-generating partnerships and evaluating business opportunities across sales channels.
  5. Support planning for market entry, expansion, and route optimization through research, collaboration, and business analysis.
  6. Identify joint trench opportunities during new construction and facilitate walk-outs of areas/buildings of interest.
  7. Maintain documentation of access agreements and building profiles in the company CRM.
  8. Coordinate with internal teams such as Engineering, Business Solutions, Fiber Design, Construction, and Marketing to execute agreements and support business development activities.
What You Bring to the Table:
  • 10 years of experience in sales or market development within the telecommunications industry.
  • Experience in Real Estate or property management is preferred.
  • Strong ability to coordinate across diverse teams and conduct complex contract negotiations.
  • Knowledge of fiber optic data and telecommunications solutions, especially in CLEC business.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven relationship-building and customer service skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office; CRM experience is a plus.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively with ambiguity and stress.
Education and Certifications:
  • College degree preferred.

*Benefits apply to full-time employees. The base salary in IL is $80,000 annually, with bonus and commission opportunities. Targeted commissions are $20,000 annually, with potential for higher earnings.
