Qualus in Carson City, NV seeks a Business Development Manager to drive new business in strategic markets and work with marketing and sales to implement a tactical plan that increases revenue and profits.

The role partners with leadership to target clients, cultivate partnerships, and develop campaigns, market research, and growth strategies while delivering strong market insights.

Qualifications

• Understanding of engineering requirements including transmission planning, modeling, design, arc flash, short circuit, coordination, and load flow studies.
• Ability to leverage market channels including EPC, ESCOs, utility companies, developers, engineering companies, end-users, and equipment manufacturers.
• Knowledge of utility deployed smart grid programs, IEDs, reclosers, and software platforms pertaining to smart grid.
• Strong background in business development with working knowledge of power systems.
• Experience understanding customer needs to develop account plans and strategies.
• Strong leadership, entrepreneurial spirit and sense of urgency.
• Ability to manage time and prioritize workload independent of direct supervision.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication, business acumen and management ability.
• Ability to foster and build strong working relationships.
• Strategic planning and tactical implementation skills.
• Experience in business development in power systems space is preferred.

Power your future with Qualus in our Sales department as a Business Development Manager. The Business Development Manager is responsible for developing new business in strategic markets and will work closely with marketing and sales to help implement a tactical marketing plan that would increase revenues and profits. This position is expected to uphold the mission, goals and overall core values established by the organization. The BD Manager works with leadership to identify and pursue target strategic markets and clients and works to penetrate these markets.

Responsibilities

• Oversee formation of new business partnerships and negotiation of contracts.
• Establish and maintain productive peer-to-peer relationships with customers and prospective clients.
• Develop and execute lead generation.
• Collaborate with team to identify opportunities, plan and execute growth strategies.
• Perform market research and analysis.
• Evaluate operational issues to determine how competitive and current the organization is with the latest trends in the industry.
• Monitor external and internal environment for development of new market segments.
• Develop marketing campaigns for new products and services. This includes formulating a specific budget and expenditure plan for each.
• Assist in developing an evaluation process to gain feedback from clients.

Minimum Qualifications

• Understanding of engineering requirements including transmission planning, modeling, design, arc flash, short circuit, coordination, and load flow studies.
• The ability to leverage all aspects of market channels including EPC, ESCO’s, Utility Companies, Developers, Engineering Companies, End-Users, and Equipment Manufacturers.
• Thorough understanding of utility deployed smart grid programs including in depth knowledge of IED’s, reclosers, and software platforms associated with smart grid.
• Strong background in business development with a working knowledge of power systems.
• Experience understanding customer needs and business drivers and using this knowledge to develop account plans and strategies.
• Strong leadership abilities, entrepreneurial spirit and strong sense of urgency.
• Ability to manage time and prioritize workload independent of direct supervision.
• Ability to communicate effectively in and across teams; must possess strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, business acumen, and management ability.
• Cultivate business development opportunities through effective competitive and market analysis.
• Ability to foster and build strong working relationships.
• Strategic planning and tactical implementation skills.
• Experienced in business development, preferred experience in power systems space including engineering or field service testing.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook).
