Job summary

Peraton in Washington, DC area seeks a senior Business Development Executive to drive growth across U.S. Federal Health sectors, focusing on HHS, SSA, and related agencies.

You will work with senior BD leadership to identify, qualify, and pursue opportunities, building connections with customers and partners. The role requires deep federal health IT knowledge, a robust network, and the ability to navigate procurement cycles and complex capture processes to shape winning strategies.

Qualifications

• Minimum of12 years of experience, may have supervisory or management experience.
• Minimum 6 years of relevant experience supporting business development, capture, or account management activities within the Federal Health, Veterans Affairs, or Civilian space, including demonstrated experience within HHS or SSA.
• Familiarity with federal procurement processes, including RFI/RFP cycles, acquisition strategies, and the federal contracting life-cycle.
• Ability to build and maintain productive relationships with customers, teaming partners, and internal stakeholders.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical and programmatic concepts to diverse audiences.
• Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a matrixed, enterprise-focused organization.
• High energy, integrity, professionalism, and a strong commitment to mission success.
• Working knowledge of federal acquisition regulations and the rules and processes that govern the capture life-cycle.
• U.S. Citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Support the identification, development, and qualification of new opportunities within HHS, FDA, and SSA portfolios.
• Contribute to the development of an active opportunity pipeline aligned with corporate strategy and growth goals.
• Assist in building and nurturing customer relationships through consistent engagement with HHS and SSA stakeholders.
• Support the development of strategies to shape requirements and influence acquisition strategies for early-stage opportunities.
• Research and identify new business markets, adjacencies, and potential teaming partners to expand Peraton's footprint within federal health, veterans, and social services sectors.
• Actively participate in Peraton Business Acquisition Process, contributing to opportunity reviews, gate reviews, and pipeline reporting.
• Assist in preparing responses to RFIs, market surveys, white papers, presentations, and briefings in coordination with technical and program management teams.
• Support senior BD leadership in guiding potential customers by helping demonstrate Peraton's technology solutions, architectures, and capabilities.
• Collaborate with capture managers, proposal teams, and solution architects to develop competitive win strategies.
• Represent Peraton at industry events, conferences, and customer engagements to build brand awareness and expand the company's network within the Federal Health, and SSA communities.

About The Role

Peraton is seeking a Business Development Executive to support growth across the U.S. Federal Health Sector with primary focus on the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), other Federal Health agencies within HHS, and Social Security Administration (SSA).

This individual will work alongside senior BD leadership to identify, develop, and qualify opportunities across HHS and its operating divisions, as well as the Social Security Administration.

The ideal candidate brings established familiarity with the federal health IT landscape, a growing network of customer and partner relationships across one or more of these agencies, and a strong desire to contribute to a high-performing, mission-driven BD team.

We are open to candidates with deep expertise in any combination of these markets and are eager to explore where the right individual's experience and relationships can drive the most impact.

Position Location

Washington, D.C. / Maryland, Virginia area (DMV) (candidate needs to be local or have the ability to commute to this location).

Desired Qualifications

• Experience within specific program offices, administrations, (or SSA program and contracting offices.
• Direct experience supporting or contributing to contract wins with HHS operating divisions (e.g., CMS, CDC, NIH, FDA, HRSA, ARPA-H,), or SSA customers.
• Established relationships with Federal Health agency or SSA program offices, contracting personnel, or key agency stakeholders.
• Experience supporting teaming strategy development, including identification of prime/sub partnership opportunities within target agency ecosystems.
• Familiarity with core service areas, including IT modernization, data analytics, cybersecurity, cloud, or health IT solutions.
• Prior experience with CMS and/or SSA-specific centers/offices is a plus.

Target Salary Range: $146,000 - $234,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
