Crown Bioscience, a premier CRO, seeks a Director of Business Development to drive new business in North Asia and surrounding regions. The role is based in Korea, requiring strong cross-cultural communication and deep knowledge of biology and preclinical services.

You will lead relationship development, manage sales cycles, and represent Crown Bioscience at regional and international meetings, aiming to exceed growth targets while expanding the client base.

Qualifications

• BA/BS degree required; advanced degree preferred (PhD, MBA).
• 5+ years industrial experience, CRO/CDMO preferred.

At Crown Bioscience, a premiere tier Contract Research Organization, we currently have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Director, Business Development. Based in Korea, the right candidate will help establish, build and maintain customer relations, execute business strategy, and thereby drive the development of new business for the North Asia, and possible other territories in the region of Asia Pacific.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Working independently and in tandem with established partners, to identify and prospect potential Clients and leads, while leveraging an established contact network.
• Development and cultivation of existing relationships with current Key Accounts to ensure repeat and expanded business.
• To organize and execute face-to-face client visits, accompanied by senior operational staff as appropriate.
• Taking responsibility for all parts of the sales cycle, generating a sustainable “pipeline” of sales to meet annual growth targets.
• Meeting and exceeding agreed growth and sales targets, expanding Crown’s client base and market penetration.
• To represent Crown Bioscience at Asia Pacific-base and international or Reginal meetings.
• To recognize sales barriers and develop methods to overcome them.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• BA/BS Master degree in a scientific discipline, advanced degree (PhD, MBA) strongly preferred.
• 5+ years relevant industrial experience, CRO/CDMO ideally involved.
• Background and knowledge of biology and pathology, the drug development process and related services needed to bring the service market.

SKILL REQUIREMENTS

• Must have strong business acumen, proficient in the use of CRM systems, exceptional interpersonal, communication, and networking skills, and have demonstrated sound decision-making skills and autonomy in past positions.
• Excellent communication skills in English and Korean are required. Chinese language ability is a plus.
• Flexibility to spend approx. 50%+ of sales time traveling.

• Report to: Head of Business Development, APAC
• Works with: Study Director, Project Manager, Scientific Engagement, Marketing
